Serenity, luxury, beautiful views, riverside, unique winter and summer holiday

Our trip to Iceland was amazing and renting this home played a big role in the success of our family vacation. It is perfect in many ways. First - The Location. Right on route 1 it was an easy drive to everywhere we wanted to go. From Brogarnes in the West to Jokulsarlon in the Southeast and everywhere in between (Gullfoss, Skogar, Reynisfjara, Thingvellir). We visited all these places during out stay and were back each evening for dinner! Reykjavik is only 45 minutes away! Second - The Amenities. The house had EVERYTHING we needed from a well stocked kitchen to personal needs like soap and shampoo. I have rented homes before and have always had to run out to get soap or laundry detergent etc, But not this time. It was a joy! Third - The Owner. Kristin was amazing. She made the transaction easy and was easy to reach for any questions we had. She was friendly and provided a lot of information about the area. Last, but certainly not least - The home itself. I'm not sure I can do it justice in this short review. It was very comfortable and almost immediately felt like home to us. We enjoyed family breakfasts at the kitchen counter and evening meals at the large dining table. There were perfect nooks to quietly sit and read a book and a terrific media room to watch TV when we wanted. The bedrooms were large and the beds were comfortable. And with 3 bathrooms everyone could get ready in the mornings without having to wait! The outside has an expansive deck with lots of outdoor furniture. There are beautiful views of the river and we enjoyed walking the paths. The house sits at the end of a private road so it feels remote although town is right across the river. I would not hesitate for a moment in recommending this house. If you are going to Iceland ( and I strongly advise that you should) this is the perfect place to make your "home base".
