About Anja Kooistra
I lived for most of my life in a small town in the Netherlands and always dreamed of living in the country, and found this place after I immigrated with my husband to Canada in a small town in beautiful Ontario.
I treasure its open spaces, the rolling hills, friendly residents and vibrant artistic community.
Experience what I am lucky and grateful for and enjoy it every day..
Anja Kooistra purchased this apartment in 2002
Why Anja Kooistra chose Newmarket
The view from the road with the orchard in the front yard an the astonishing landscape that the house is surrounded by is as absolutely breathtaking and fell in love, knowing this is the place where I want to spend my time, raising animal, growing my own food, creating beautiful things and developing my artistic side I always have dreamed of!
What makes this apartment unique
The property is on a quiet road, with its mixed forest, open fields and the Beaver River behind the property, provides habitat to a range of many birds, Crane bill Crane, Trumpet swans, hawks and Owls. Walking out the door in the morning with a freshly brewed cup of Java, breathing in the clear country air, to see our sheep peacefully grazing and lazing in the sun, only then can you understand the meaning of 'Living the Country Dream'. Our rural neighbourhood is a mix of artist, dairy, u-pick farms and organic vegetable farms.
Take a moment and watch a large variety of birds nesting, singing and flying by on our property (we have built many bird houses and continue to)., We share the land with small and large wildlife. We enjoy watching and listening to all this nature all around us, it's such a gift.
We also love the small town near to us with everything close on hand.
