Pepin Cottage has 4 distinct sleeping areas. Downstairs has a pair of twins and a full size along with the half bath. Washer and dryer are in their own rooms, if needed.
The back porch has a single bed overlooking the backyard. It is suitable for someone who may have difficulty navigating stairs. It comes with an adjacent full bath.
Upstairs houses a room with a pair of twin bunk beds with safety rails. The beds are very comfortable. The master bedroom has a queen-size bed. An iron with ironing board are located upstairs if needed.
We have a great spot for a 'girls weekend' outing or a multi-family vacation. Family reunions are really fun at Pepin Cottage.
We proudly display all four seasons. In the winter, our village and the surrounding villages have many monthly activities (check Pepin, Stockholm, Maiden Rock, Nelson, Wabasha, Lake City and Red Wing websites). Don't forget ice fishing. Spring shows all the new foliage, the new crops of leaves, corn and soybeans. Watch the ice flows break up. Summer weather is spectacular. Try our beach, the boat harbor next to the beach, the beach-front shops. Bring you appetite to try out the many restaurants. Bring a boat and we have a spot and the slip by the harbor. Fall colors in September and October are worth the trip. The sugar maple trees show almost every color of the rainbow. Take a stroll anytime around our village to see great sights and to meet great people.
We chose Pepin as a vacation destination because it is the most friendly town in Wisconsin, the scenery is awesome all the time; there is so much to see. The local merchants are visitor friendly. We have numerous great restaurants. We are close to the Twin Cities and all of southern towns in Wisconsin and Minnesota. Pepin and the surrounding communities have numerous events 12 months of the year, which have an appeal to artists, those who enjoy film, fishing, boating, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, eagle watching and much more. The 'Laura Days' activities in September offer great enjoyment for kids.
Our home is situated in a quiet neighborhood. If listening carefully, you can hear a train whistle in the far distance. The home is very uniquely designed. Everything is very 'custom,' from the ash inlaid cathedral ceiling to the stainless kitchen in custom hardwoods. The home is a true work of art. You can enjoy a easy 3 block walk to the boat harbor and all of the local shopping. Several eating establishments are within 2 blocks. AND, if you come in by boat, we have local transportation from the boat harbor to our home for you and your luggage.
We found that everything we needed was convenient. We had lots of space. Your home is very nice and we will plan to come again. Next time we plan to bring friends. All the places we visited in town were very friendly and helpful although not all the restaurants accept credit cards.
We rented the house for 3 days for our daughter and the girls in her wedding party. The house was very nice and well equipped. The girls enjoyed having the house to spread out and relax. Her wedding was at Villa Bellezza Winery. It was very nice to have such a nice place to stay that was close by. Thanks again Jim for a nice house to stay at.
We stayed here for 3 days during our son's wedding at Villa Bellezza. The house is better than a hotel, it has an amazing charm and is well equipped.
We liked Route 35 along the Mississippi from the airport MSP to Pepin. The little grocery store in Pepin was fantiastic.
This was our 2nd stay at the Pepin Cottage. We absolutely enjoyed both our stays. It truly was like a home away from home. The cottage was spotless and immaculate. The owner Jim was helpful and accommodating. The local wineries also provided us with some great entertainment. We would definitely recommend this cottage to anybody. Hope to be back soon.
My family and I (6 people) stayed here and in the area for the first time. The home was spacious and immaculately clean and supplied with everything you could possibly need. Jim kept in contact before, during, and after the stay to make sure that everything went perfectly. The home is on the quiet and quaint side of Lake Pepin, and allows easy travel up and down both sides of the River between Red Wing and Wabasha. Make sure you eat at Ralph's in Pepin - the fish fry is outstanding! Stop at the Hanisch Bakery and Coffee-shop in Red Wing, the Red Wing Museum in Red Wing, and rent a pontoon boat at the Alma Marina in Alma! The area is a perfect vacation spot! We plan to be back!
This location was ideal for our group of seven women friends after our 45th college reunion. Its location on the Wisconsin side of Lake Pepin was a short drive from the Twin Cities and allowed us easy access to many of the sites around the Lake.
The house was clean and well stocked. We especially liked the abundance of sleeping spaces. The owner was responsive to our request for heat (in June!) - the summer cooling settings were in place, but we arrived on a rainy, cool day. This was a very comfortable, pleasant home. We enjoyed our stay.
My husband and I spent a weekend at the Pepin Cottage. The place was very clean and well appointed with everything needed for a comfortable time. The cottage is conveniently located and Jim was extremely helpful as we were planning our trip.
Ice Fishing is huge on Lake Pepin and snowmobiles are encouraged for the 150 miles of trails. Come to the many town festivals (see Mississippi Valley Partners website) and make Pepin, WI your headquarters for lots of fun. The fall colors are as beautiful as New England.
