Austin Cottage Rental Photos and Description

3 bedrooms, 1 full bath, sleeps 6

Bring a car if you want to, but you won't need it. From the SoCo Casita (City of Austin license # OL 2012127650) you are less than a five-minute stroll to SoCo's wide sidewalks lined with buskers, artists, craftspeople...many of Austin's best restaurants...and our great, home-grown, uniquely-Austin shops....Got your fill of that? Seven-tenths of a mile to the tree-canopied Town Lake hike and bike trail. Cruise the lake on a pedal-powered swan boat, pole board, kayak or canoe from Lone Star Riverboats. Rent a bicycle and dawdle under the trees less than another mile to gorgeous, huge, naturally-formed Barton Springs Pool. Back at home, stroll three to five blocks to white-tablecloth restaurants Vespaio, Woodland, Perla's... Or grab vittles from Thai food to BBQ to crepes and cupcakes at the Airstream foodie trailers.....Ready to party? A five-minute walk takes you to live music at the legendary Continental Club...Trophy's....Jovita's....Freddie's.....Dance beneath starlit skies and the ancient oaks at Guero's Taco Bar....Need even more variety? Downtown jumps at night and it's one mile away. Enjoy!

We are absolutely in love with this place

  • 5 of 5
The Casita is our home away from home when we visit Austin. We have stayed numerous times and each time we are greeted with kindness and very generous hospitality. This home has everything you will need and is located in the heart of Austin. Perfect place for a wonderful time. We will definitely be back Dale. You're a peach!

Great place and location!

  • 5 of 5
We (4, 30-something ladies) had a great extended weekend staying at Dale's place! None of us had visited Austin before and were looking for a centrally located place where we could explore by foot. We were only two blocks from all the great restaurants and stores on BOTH south Congress and south First. We visited many food trucks along these streets as well. With the fluctuating day to night temps, it was easy to dash back to the house to change, or relax a little before our next endeavor. We easily walked downtown and back on Saturday night. The walk was safe, clean, well lit and a cab was not needed at all. We were also able to walk to Zilker Park and the springs from this location and enjoyed a very nice walk along the river all the way back to the house/neighborhood. One fun surprise were all the bird species we got to observe along the way! The house was clean and comfortably fit us all with 3 bedrooms and an enormous king bed. We especially appreciated all of the natural and organic products in the house including the coffee for nice relaxing mornings! We definitely recommend this rental house to anyone! Dale was well organized, communicated regularly, and provided lots of excellent info for our trip. Also, not only was this an affordable option compared to a hotel, but much more fun to stay at because we could all easily hangout together in the living room or outside in the yard. Thanks, Dale!

Felt like we were at home!

  • 5 of 5
This was a fantastic getaway for our family. Much of the thanks to Dale, the owner, for all his information to guide us along on our trip and hospitality. The home was very clean and comfortably lived in. Nothing like a sterile hotel and the location is phenomenal. We could walk two blocks up to South Congress for anything; food, shopping and just admiring. There wasn't a day when something wasn't going on but you'd never hear it at the house. The price just made it even better. With a 21/18 year old, it was awesome for all of us to have our own bedrooms. The stay would have cost twice as much to be in in a hotel and honestly we didn't see one that would have been more convenient. If you need more then one bathroom I'd still consider staying here. We were so laid back and had plenty of time to work around each other. Depending on a person's disability, this house is very easy to get around since it is one level and the master bedroom is huge. We look forward to going back when we can sit outside and enjoy the backyard.

Great Spot in SoCo

  • 4 of 5
Nice little house in the middle of all of the SoCo restaurants and shops. Park your car, because you won't need it on this trip. Walk to Jo's, The Snack Bar, Botticelli's, Home Slice, Perla's, Vespaio, Food trucks galore. Fun spot.

Perfect

  • 5 of 5
We stayed here for 4 nights and everything was perfect. This is a great house with three good sized bedrooms with very comfortable beds. Our host, Dale made sure we weren't missing anything. Everything we needed was there and then some. There was a big back yard with a lot of shade which was perfect for sitting out in the Texas heat with some cool beverages. As for the location, it just can't be beat. It's a one minute walk from South Congress with all the cool shops and bars and restaurants and we walked downtown every day in about 20 minutes. I definitely recommend staying here.

Wonderful SoCo Casita !!!!

  • 5 of 5
Fantastic, comfortable home. Great amenities ! We loved the placed! Shopping on S. Congress, walked to the bridge to watch the Bats take flight, grilled out in the great backyard and walked to Hey Cupcake for dessert. The fluffy towels, wonderful soaps and shampoos were a delight ! Comfy beds!! Thank you Dale for your generosity! This is how to experience Austin, not in some sterile hotel. Keep Austin Weird!!!
