Valle de Bravo House Rental Photos and Description
House, 3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
Set in a valley, surrounded by pine covered mountains leading down to the eastern shore of spectacular Lake Avandaro, Valle de Bravo is known as one of the most beautiful towns in Mexico. With natural beauty, authentic Mexican architecture, a thriving artistic community, and many outdoor activities (boat trips, sailing, swimming, paragliding, water skiing, golf, horseback riding, hiking trails, Monarch butterfly sanctuary) Valle de Bravo has attracted visitors from around the world.
One of the most beautiful homes in Valle, this property is located in an exclusive area of town (just 4 blocks from the main plaza and a 10 minute walk to the lake). From the house you have spectacular views of the lake, mountains and the rooftops of the town.
The house was built by Francis Kalnay, a Hungarian writer who came to Valle de Bravo many years ago and immediately fell in love with it. Combining his Hungarian and Mexican sensitivities, he created this unique custom-made home and made it his own. Each corner of this unique and very specially decorated and well kept home, offers breathtaking views. Through the beauty of its exquisite and well chosen décor and calming sunsets, this is the place for relaxation.
The house has two levels. The living room, dining room, kitchen and well apointed terraces on the ground/entrance level. And on the lower level, two exquisite master bedrooms, (one king size and one queen size bed). Both master bedrooms feature a fireplace and one also has a private terrace. In addition there is one smaller bedroom with two single beds. Each bedroom has a full bathroom and closet. A full kitchen and charcoal grill on the terrace make cooking very easy. The house is on a dead-end street and has off street parking.
The house intentionally does not have a TV, or video. You are invited to bring your iPod, a speaker is availble. The sound of your own selected music plus the church bells at a distance will accompany you during your stay. You will enjoy complete privacy. These beautiful surroundings will enrich your personal creativity.
Activities on site and nearby: two golf courses, sailing, jet skiing, biking, hiking, tennis, boating, swimming, mountain biking, fishing, horseback riding, kayaking, waterskiing, windsurfing, wildlife viewing, rock climbing, paragliding, hang-gliding, health beauty spa, shopping, art galleries, handcraft market, regional products market, and lovely walks through the woods.
During the summer months, mornings are sunny and warm and the afternoon rain will invite you to light a fire. After the downpour, be ready to enjoy one of the many beautiful sunsets.
If you choose to have our cook pamper you, she will present you with various menu possibilities. The town also has excellent prepared food (gourmet take-out), a lovely market with fresh produce, health oriented shops and a range of restaurants. Some of these will be closed during week days. These days in Valle are the most peaceful and quiet. Although some fancy places will be closed, the many smaller shops and restaurants will be open.
The night of September 15 is the celebration of Mexican Independence. From each of our terraces you will have a firsthand view of the incredible fireworks all through the town and on the lake. Music festivities continue through the long weekend.
Christmas is spectacular with cool evenings and beautiful sun and sky during the day. Various concerts and cultural activities are scheduled throughout the week. The fireworks on New Year´s eve are something to be seen! From our terraces you will have a front row seat!
For your comfort, taxi service from the Toluca airport can be arranged.

About The Owner
Like the Hungarian who built the house, the previous owners came from Europe. The fell in love with Valle de Bravo, the first town they visited outside Mexico City and spent ten years trying to buy this house. Now the house belongs to their daughter, an artist/photographer, who finds it a restful place which inspires her own creativity.
Why The Owner chose Valle de Bravo
When we arrive to Mexico, my father was advised by the European Community to come to Valle, as one of the two most beatiful towns in the country.
What makes this house unique
One of the most outstanding sights of the whole town in Valle, in a hill just four streets from the center of town.
Five minutes walk to the charming streets of the pueblo and market.
No need to use the car to go to galleries, museums, restaurants, etc.
