360-1000 m above sea level in the central Black Forest in the Gutach valley. Situated on the Black Forest railway (Interregio-stop Kassel-Konstanz and E-train-stop Offenburg-Konstanz), on the Federal Highway 33 Offenburg-Konstanz and on the 'German Street of Clocks'. Situated on the long-distance footpaths Pforzheim-Basel (West way), Pforzheim-Waldshut (middle way) and Lahr-Rottweil (cross way). Attribute: officially certified health resort. Climate: well-balanced highlands climate, healthy for the heart, the circulatory and the lungs.

Further on the Guest Card is regarded as ticket for the buses and trains of the participating linked transport system.
Ski:
Cross-country ski runs are situated at Fohrenbühl, Tennenbronn, Schonach and Schönwald. Drive between 6 - 12 km. The nearest ski-lifts and ski-runs are in Schonach, Schonach-Rohrhardsberg and Schönwald.
