Log Cabin Duplex, 2 Bedrooms + 1 Bath in each unit, (Sleeps 5-6 each unit)

Come enjoy the Fishing, Flora and Fauna of Steinhatchee! It's truly the last of the 'old' Florida lifestyle reminiscent of the 40's & 50's.

SCALLOP SEASON OPENS JULY 1st and ENDS SEPT 25th for 2013. Scallops are plentiful, fishing is awesome and the water is clear.

Prime location for Fishing, Hunting, Scalloping, Kayaking, Boating and Site Seeing.

The upper unit of the duplex unit is a 2 Bedroom & 1 Bath accomodation with a private entrance. The upper Master unit has 1 queen bed. The 2nd bedroom has 1 Twin and 1 Double bed.

The duplex's lower Master unit has 1 Queen bed. The 2nd bedroom has 3 twin beds and also has it's own private entrance.

Each unit is complete with full Kitchen! (Stove, Refrigerator, Microwave, Coffee Maker, Pots/Pans, Dishes & Utensils.

Bed Linens and Bath Towels are provided. Please bring your own personal boating or beach towels.

Available for your use is a Charcoal grill and a small gas grill as well as an outdoor fire pit. A new addition is the large screened room for your outdoor enjoyment.

No washer & dryer but a 'solar' dryer is coming soon along with an outdoor shower!!

There is ample parking in front of the house and along the right side of property.

Only 2 blocks from Sea Hag Marina, Fiddler's Restaurant, Howies Pizza, Riverside Liquors and Maddies Market.

This is a secluded and private location perfect for a peaceful retreat or family reunions! Convenient location for Hunters, Fishermen (and Fisher Women) and Scallop Savants!

Scallop and fishing charters available with or without catering. Sunsets on the Gulf of Mexico are magnificent and not to be missed!

About Mary

We recently bought 'Steinhatchee Catch' as the perfect weekend/vacation getaway with an eye towards retirement living. Since that time is still a ways off into the future, we want to share this charming spot with others who also enjoy the 'Salt Life'! Florida's 'Forgotten Coast' along the Gulf of Mexico just reminded us of the way Florida used to be before the resorts, big developers and amusement parks saturated most of our beautiful state.

Since we also love to be on the water, either boating, playing, fishing and especially SCALLOPING!, this area suits our relaxation needs perfectly!

Fishing along the coastal areas of Steinhatchee area is just awesome!

Scallop season for the last several years has been fantastic. Come join us for the fun. Scallop season runs from JULY 1st through SEPT 25th 2013.

Bring your kayak or canoe and take the Steinhatchee River from Steinhatchee Falls right on down to the Gulf of Mexico. Stop along the way at a local restaurant or marina for all of your outing needs.

We also have Scallop and Fishing charters available. For that special occasion contact us for Sunset Cruise rates.

Kayak and Boat rentals are available at some of the local marinas.

Too tired to clean fish or scallops? Several local residents are easily hired to do the job for you.

Within 45 minutes drive to the Suwanee River for fishing, kayaking, swimming, etc. Steinhatchee has a new public boat ramp nearby, which is literally just 15 minutes away from the bountiful waters of the Gulf of Mexico!

My two daughters, 3 granddaughters and 2 great grandchildren rented the entire duplex last weekend for a girls weekend.. Their husbands are ready to come back with them soon. The duplex was just what we needed as everyone had plenty of room. Both kitchens were fully equiped, the beds were comfortable and it was wonderful to take my two poodles as pets were allowed. There is also a washer and dryer on premises. The duplex is just around the corner from Maddies market where we purchased our food and down the street from the Sea Hag marina where we rented our boat. Everyone there was exceptionally nice to us. We scalloped on Saturday, caught our limit,had them cleaned right there at the marina and ate them for dinner. UMM,ummm, good.. I had never had fresh scallops.. what a delight. Sunday we ate at Fiddlers restaurant...a local place that has all fresh vegetables, delicious fried chicken, bisuits and peach cobbler to die for.. Highly recommend visiting and scalloping. It was soooo much fun. It was our first visit and we wil definitely be returning.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Pet-friendly, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

The place was perfect for what we needed. We stayed in the lower level so that we could easily get in and out. Very convenient to all the amenities of Steinhatchee. Very clean. The setting is very pleasant and peaceful. It was still a little chilly at night when we were there and could have used a couple of blankets. Other than that, we were very comfortable. The grill was pretty much unusable but the fire pit was a definite plus given the weather. Look forward to another visit.
