The Meadows - A Group or Family Vacation Rental You'll Love! “The Meadows House,” a lodge with room for up to 20, including a 1000 sq ft great room perfect for family gatherings or business meetings or retreats. In the middle of our heavily wooded 19 acres is a beautiful 4-acre meadow full of wildlife. Nestled in field among some trees is a ranch-style home with a twist or 2 that accommodates 20 guests. The Meadows is for your really big getaway. It seems that some if not all of the guests take advantage of the occasion by spending some vacation time visiting the New River Gorge National Park. There's so much to do, it's easy to make a week's worth of wedding celebration instead of just a quick weekend. You’ll enjoy this proximity to all of these attractions and activities while sequestered in a private, peaceful, wooded setting; Opossum Creek Retreat makes you feel like you are far, far away. Both the ceremony & reception can be held at The Meadows House. And there's enough room for the whole wedding party to stay. Friends and family at weddings or other functions offer stay in the cabins that are a short walk away from The Meadows. Many couples like the fact that their friends and family can stay at the same location of the wedding itself.

2 stoves and lots of counter space. Well behaved travel savvy dog is allowed with prior arrangement and a $20 per day fee. After The Party: Soak in the hot tub on the deck while looking at the stars. Swing on the porch swing in the screened-in porch. Do nothing, and feel great about it. You'll love this vacation home away from home. What's Inside: The cabin is cozy, comfortable, and unique. Whichever rental cabin you choose, you'll find...* Privacy and seclusion * A hot tub * A gas fireplace * Comfortable beds * WiFi * Sleeper sofas * TV and DVD player (no cable though- you're getting away, remember?) * A gas grill. A little further and you'll come to the guest laundry facilities and recycling area. We have recently added an interpretative nature trail on the property for you to enjoy. Whether you're birding or just going for a walk in the West Virginia woods, there's a lot to see right here at the cabin.

Ideal for a family vacation in winter

We rented this place for the New Year's eve for our vacation vacation. We had 6 families coming in from Battlecreek(MI), Richmond(VA), Pittsburg(PA) and NJ. It was ideally located for all of us. The place was very nice and as described on the internet and by the owner. We had a great time at the home even though we didn't do much of outdoor activites due to cold weather. The great room was the highlight of the home. We spent most of our time playing, singing, dancing, chatting in the great room. The kitchen was also perfect for multiple people working in it. The kids has a ball with the bunk bends and infact our 3 yr old was insisiting to take the bunk bed home :). We would highly recommend this property to our friends and family. BTW, The property was well-maintained and everything was in working condition. We even used the hot tub and had fun. The temperature of the water was a little high and the thermostat didn't seem to work but it wasn't tood bad. Some of the group also went to the nearest ski area which was an hour away for snow tubing and they had a great time. Overall, it was a perfect vacation for us and we created some everlasting memories. Thanks to Keith and Family for making it happen.
