ENDLESS VIEWS - PARADISE FOR FISHING, BOATING, NATURE-LOVERS

Edisto Island House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 8-10)

Welcome to San Russ Point on Edisto Island! As they say: location, location, location! Located on a peninsula between Sand Creek and Russell Creek, this property enjoys wonderful breezes not found inland. Better than a typical beach vacation, our guest house provides access to the unique nature and beauty of the Low Country’s rich tidal creeks and marshes, as well as easy access by car to Edisto Island’s historic landmarks, State Parks and local sites. Bring your boat to enjoy fishing, water sports, and remote beaches, utilizing our boat ramp and deep water dock. The Atlantic Ocean and Bohicket Marina are a short 20-minute boat ride away. It is 10 miles to Edisto Beach down highway 174.

Other Activities: This property is totally preserved and boarders miles of state wetlands and open water. It is 10 minutes to the Intracoastal Waterway. Great Fishing, Crabbing, Shrimping (in season). Property has its own boat ramp and dock. The property has a zip line, trampoline and swing. The dock has a ladder on it for swimming but we require life-jackets for children because there is a swift current. Because we are on the tip of Little Edisto Island, there are less bugs than other places and good breezes. We enjoy taking our boat down the intracoastal waterway to beach and bird sanctuary. This is a very beautiful and undisturbed area. We allow dogs for an extra charge but must be friendly because there is another house on the property with two very friendly Springer Spaniels. In addition, we can provide linens for an extra charge as well.

Owner Description: My brother bought this property in 1962 and we feel it is one of the most beautiful piece of property on Edisto Island because it is on a peninsula in a protected area. This give miles of undisturbed land surrounding the house. If you walk a mile up the dirt road you only see a few houses - instead you see lots of wildlife. As I write this, there are Wood Storks walking near the house and I can see miles out over the wetlands. The house is on a part of Edisto called Little Edisto Island, on the end of Russell Creek road, between Russell and Sand Creek.

Owner Description Continued: About 100 yards down the dirt road from the house that we are renting, you will find the main house where my husband and I live with our two springers and young husky. All around our 40 acre property there are protected areas - the picture to the right is me kayaking with my Springer Spaniel. We just started renting this house two years ago. So far all of our guests have been pleased and many are repeaters. We love sharing our beautiful place so much we decided to let people know about it on the Web.

Rainy Week

Rainy week but the breeze that came with it kept the bugs away and the temperatures cool. A little fishing, crabbing, boating, bike riding and a lot of reading made a a fabulous week!

I liked catching crabs in the crab traps. It was fun. We named one Mr Macho because he was really strong. It took a really long time to get his pinchers off the bars. I had to take the back of the fishing net and slam it down on his pinchers, but it didn't work. I thought the house was awesome and fun. We really liked the zipline. It was really fast. Thank you.
I loved crabbing and going on the zip line. I want a zipline from the roof to the ground in Chicago. I liked learning how to drive a golf cart. The house is really nice.

Camp Low

  • Submitted: Dec 7, 2013

Camp Low is the undisputed perfect place for a family vacation! Children (an parents) experience the adventure of exploration, the joy of discovery and the freedom to imagine and play! For me, Camp Low has proven itself a perfect retreat from the noise, stress and busyness of every day life. My husband and I have gazed across the marsh, seen brilliant stars in the night sky. (Next time I will bring my telescope) watched dolphins chase a fish onto the shore and fished a little (with much less sucess than the dolphins!) We appreciate the time we have spent here.
I like the way Rachel Carson describes my experience here: Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts. . . . . Thank you Ann and Joe for sharing your bit of earth with us.

Perfect weekend

This was the perfect vacation for our weekend with old friends. The Lows are lovely and their guest cottage is a very special place. We loved waking up to the view of the creek in the morning and sitting on that porch with a cup of coffee. The layout of the house was also perfect for our needs. We loved how it was very spread out but intimate at the same time. And loved the hottub! Thanks again for a great Edisto trip!
