*OCEANFRONT COMPLEX WITH OCEANSIDE POOL*AFFORDABLE 2 BEDROOM

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this condo on the Big Island this past year. (It was a return trip-last year we stayed in this owner's other unit. See review for #311117) The place exceeded our expectations! It was clean, had all the comforts of home-with better kitchenware than we own! (Great pots and knives and plates that make your food look gourmet!) Even stuff like tinfoil and baggies were there. I love to cook and control what we are putting into our bodies. By shopping at the nearby Costco and Walmart we ate at the condo for the evening and breakfast and packed picnic lunches using the thermos' as ice packs using the provided cooler. Towels and mats and beach chairs and even an umbrella are provided. There is air conditioning to cool things off and a pool if you haven't had your fill of swimming in the ocean or just want to relax and stay close to home. Although the condo is located close to a very touristy area complete with beaches to swim and snorkel in, we would recommend renting a vehicle to get around to appreciate this island if you can. Our favorite beach was definitely Hapuna for boogie boarding and Hononau (next to the Place of Refuge) for free snorkeling. We did the manta ray night dive with a tour company last year and it was an experience of a life time with over 15 manta rays showing off for us. Do it if you can. This year we did the boat trip to Captain Cook Monument in a Zodiak, snorkeling in Kalakekua Bay-saved alot of money by booking online. We left a great boogie board for you to enjoy! Three of us stayed at this wonderful condo for about 2 weeks. First impression as we walked in was how clean it was and the cute decor. Later we discovered the kitchen was fully equipped from pots and pans to whisks and a blender. Air-conditioning, wi-fi and cable were all provided. We went snorkeling often and found having the beach chairs, snorkel gear and cooler very nice to have available to us. They had guide books and maps also available. Town is only a 15-20 minutes, flat walk away. We got lots of sun down at the pool and were able to do our laundry whenever we wanted, no waiting or hold-ups. We really enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this place for a friend! Thanks for the stay!

This unit is very nice, beds comfortable, everything has been recently remodeled and the decor is lovely. We found the couches very comfortable as well, the kitchen well stocked, and everything we needed was right at hand: cooler, ice packs, beach towels, beach chairs, excellent Wi-Fi. The location is great, just a mile to the center of Kailua-Kona. The pool is very nice, right on the beach. You won't find a sandy beach here because it is covered with lava rocks, but you can snorkle and enjoy watching the ships and dolphins, and a sandy beach not far up Alii Drive. We love this location so close to the center of town and great, affordable restaurants, love the condo and are already planning to come back with our family. We will certainly rent again from Doug & Evie, and it's nice to know they have another condo next to this one and another upstairs so we can accomodate the whole family at a such a reasonable cost. Everything is well thought out and like new. Thank you Doug & Evie!
