Casa Clarita is just steps from the best surf-break in Nosara in the heart of the beautiful Playa Guioness. The waves are almost always playful and fun for all levels of surfers and swimmers.
With the Nosara Yoga Institute and the new Blue Spirit yoga center nearby, there are always plenty of great yoga classes available.
There are also lots of other activities to enjoy. From Kayaking and stand-up Paddle boarding, to bird watching and hiking. You can go see the Sea Turtles laying their eggs. Or just kick back and enjoy a Pina Colada, or a local Cerveza in your comfortable hammock, or at the pool of the nearby Gilded Iguana. But one thing is for sure, you won't want to miss the sunset. Whether you choose to paddle out on your board and watch the sky turn every possible shade of yellow, red, orange, and purple from in the water, ride the beach on horseback, or sit and relax on the beach in the warm sand and enjoy a beverage, each sunset over the Pacific in Nosara is a reminder that the best things in life are free….
With monkeys swaying from tree to tree in the jungle of your backyard, you feel far away from all. Yet you are close to all that you might need and therefore have no need for a car. There is little market only two minutes away that carries all the food and basic supplies you might need. (Fresh fruits and vegetables, sunscreen and Aloe, chips and dips, bug-spray, almond butter, bananas, batteries, cereal, milk, beer, beans, bread….etc etc etc)
The Frogpad internet and phone cafe is a very short walk from the house as well, and I must not forget to mention you can rent surfboards and take a lesson from our local Tico neighbor Juan Surfo.
There are plenty of quaint restaurants nearby, including Dee's delicious Vietnamese, The Gilded Iguana, Kaya Sol, Casa Romantica, The Harmony Hotel, Cafe Paris or Rosie's, just to name a few.
The house has two bedrooms with Queen size beds, and two bathrooms, a cute living space, and complete new kitchen fully equipped to cook your own meals. Perhaps a fresh piece of fish caught that day in Garza or Playa Pelada, or some delicious vegetables from the local farmer's market.
There is plenty of outdoor space with hammocks and and a dining table and plenty of grass to play around on with family, friends, and loved ones.
To get to Nosara, you can fly to either San Jose or Liberia. From both of those international airports you can schedule a small plane at Sansa Airlines or Natureair (apprx 30-40 min flights). From Liberia the drive is about 2 1/2 hrs and from San Jose about 41/2 hrs. There are busses and taxis available as well. Email me for further information.

I live in New York. I love nothing more than coming down to Nosara and enjoying the surf, sun, people, and wildlife of Costa Rica.
The Owner purchased this house in 2009
I fell in love with Costa Rica coming down for surf trips over the years. Nosara in particular has the perfect balance a vacationer might want. It's removed enough that coming from my busy life you feel a deep sense of the Costa Rican lifestyle Pura Vida. The nature in the area is breathtaking. The non-Ticos that have made it their home have tried to maintain the natural beauty of the area by not allowing any building on the beaches whatsoever and by keeping strict building laws in general. On the other hand there are plenty of amenities and conveniences making it easy and safe to travel to. There are many wonderful activities and all the people, locals and visitors, are super friendly.
I love to wake up with the sounds of the waking howler monkeys in the backyard and brew some Costa Rican coffee, before walking with my board to surf the first bit of daylight. Then enjoying a typical Tico breakfast. I love to walk around on the unpaved roads, or ride bikes around town. An afternoon nap in the shady hammocks around the house is always nice. Sometimes it's nice to just get an Imperial (Costa Rican beer) and enjoy the luxurious pool and free WI-FI at The Gilded Iguana. On any given night there can be live music to enjoy with dinner.
We had the time of our lives at Casa Clarita. It is steps from the best local bar in town. Live music and great food. Short walk to a magical beach. The property manager is awesome and very helpful. We will come back to visit again! We wanted to stay forever. The property owner is also friendly and easy to deal with. Thanks so much!
This house was perfect for two sun and surf lesson seeking gals! It was great to be able to have our own bedroom and bathroom, and access to a kitchen for preparing some exceptional sangria and ceviche. We took surf lessons from the amazing guys at Safari Surf School, did the zip line tour with the flirtiest boys ever at Miss Sky, stand up paddle boarded through the mangroves with Coco at Experience Nosara, did some yoga and had incredible massages, and ate deliciously fresh seafood and drank fresh coconut milk (and Imperial light!) every day. We would definately consider this property again for future visits to one of the best places on earth!
I traveled to Nosara to stay at Casa Clarita in September with a friend. We are both travel nurses who wanted to get our feet wet and try surfing! The house was a very short walking distance to the beach, and was an even shorter walk to the local surf shop owned by "Juan Surfo." We we set up with boards and personalized lessons and had a great week surfing in Nosara! Would highly recommend Juan Surfo for any one who vacations in Nosara. The house was the perfect size for two guests and we felt very comfortable there. Very private as well with all the surrounding palm trees! We loved coming home from the beach and drinking an Imperial in the hammocks! The air conditioning was a plus too! The area was very safe, the people were very friendly, and the property was very well maintained. The Guilded Iguana (a hotel next to the property) served great food and the local internet cafe was very helpful at organizing tours for us. We recommend kayaking with DK! Overall, a wonderful experience and would choose to stay again at Casa Clarita. Thanks Clara!
My husband and I stayed here in November, we had a lovely time!
We learned to surf for the first time, and did yoga at the Harmony hotel.
I highly recommend the house! It was Clean and comfortable, and everything we could have wanted.
Thanks Casa Clarita, we will be back!
My husband and I stayed at Casa Clarita with our two small children for three weeks in June. The house is perfectly located in Nosara. Within a short walking distance, there is a small mini mart, internet, a great surf shop, a restaurant/bar with a pool, mango and coconut trees and of course, the beach! There is no need for a car here. The beach near the home is gorgeous and during low tide there are tidal pools and great waves for kids. At high tide there is a nearby blowhole kids love to watch! The house was just right for us and has everything that you need for being comfortable. We cooked many of our meals in the well-stocked kitchen and enjoyed eating outside on the porch. During our stay, we saw a huge lizard and monkeys in nearby trees. The owner, Clara, and her property manager Kim in Nosara, were relaxed, easy to work with and very accommodating. We highly recommend Casa Clarita for your next trip to Nosara.
I stayed at Casa Clarita and it was amazing. A nice, clean comfortable house, ver relaxing plus walking distance from the beach! I loved it!! Strongly recommend it!
