UPSTAIRS - The fully equipped kitchen, which features plenty of cheerful white beadboard cabinetry, includes a gas range, microwave, dishwasher, super-size side-by-side fridge, a walk-in pantry and a handy breakfast bar with stools. It is open to the bright dining room, which shares a wall of sliders with the living room. The gas fireplace and stunning lake views can be viewed from all three areas. The upper deck just outside is very large, with a big gas grill for your use, a large rectangular glass-top table seating eight, and a smaller table for extra guests or food prep. A large main floor laundry leads from the spacious master bedroom (king bed) into the two-room Jack-n-Jill bathroom and back onto the hall. The home was completely redecorated in 2010 with spunky vintage furniture, fresh linens and all but one new mattress; everything is kept sparkling clean by family caretakers. Basic cable TV and cable internet are provided. The white-panelled walls give the entire home a fresh and airy cottage feeling.
DOWNSTAIRS - The cheerful guest bedroom (queen bed) and nautical 'bunkroom' (sleeping 4) share another full bathroom. A huge recreation area (classic This End Up pullout sofas / games / books/ entertainment center) spans the entire basement lakeside, where two sliders open onto a cement patio just steps from the lake. All bedrooms feature large closets and a vintage chest or dresser for storage...A baby crib and highchair are available on the premises also.
OUTSIDE - Large oak trees frame the street-side of the home, dappling the bedrooms with shade. A green lawn slopes gradually around the house to a flat grassy area between the house and lake. There's additional room to play thanks to the community greenspace lot next door. We have 60 ft of private, sandy-bottomed frontage; a dock, fire pit, and pedal boat; and a wonderful sandy mini-beach with no seawall (perfect for little ones!). We enjoy views of both the sunrise and the sunset. An attached garage offers plenty of storage. We have a ski boat for you to rent as well!

RESORT AMENITIES - Canadian Lakes is the largest recreation/resort/residential property in Michigan featuring the best in lakeside living and golf. Enjoy over 735 acres of lakes and ponds (340 of which are connected all-sports lakes); 2000 acres of dedicated green space; three members-only (and you, as our guest!) golf courses as well as the world-class Tullymore and St. Ives courses! Members and their guests also enjoy an airstrip, a campground, 3 children's playgrounds, 8 tennis courts, 2 basketball courts, 1 baseball diamond, shuffleboard, horseshoes, indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, multiple parks and 4 huge sandy beaches...our community even boasts a castle! THE LAKES - Our home is on the 240-acre all-sports Main Canadian Lake, which connects to the 100-acre all-sports West Canadian, as well as two other small no-wake lakes which beg exploration - you'll enjoy a good workout in the pedal boat! Hundreds of cottages surround the main lakes, but quiet fishing spots abound. Lakes are members-only which means that only boats owned by property owners may be on the lake - you can rent ours! We have a mint condition 1994 17' open-bow Starcraft Fish'n'Ski with a 90hp Mariner outboard, complete with fishing chair and trolling motor...perfect for fishing, skiing, and tubing all day (see blog for more info). It's also perfect for a slow drive up the channel to get ice cream or groceries, or perhaps enjoy dinner at the Grill...Pontoon rentals are also available on the lakes from Lakeside Motor Sports in Mecosta. Fishing is a favorite pastime on the lakes - they are well-stocked but catch-n-release only. You can catch bass right off the dock and seawall!
NEARBY AMENITIES - You'll lack nothing thanks to the Country Corner five minutes away - there you will find a gas station, a convenience store, a full-size grocery store, a pizza parlor, a family restaurant, a fishing license office, the post office, several banks, two health centers, a beauty parlor, a fudge shop, a flower shop, a video store, and our favorite haunt, Ace Hardware (marshmallows, bait...). The Royal, St. Ives and Tullymore golf courses also have their own restaurants, and mini-golf (great ice cream!) and riding lessons are just a few minutes further.
Canadian Lakes is the perfect location to vacation. We love our new lake house and enjoyed turning it into a bright and cheery guest home for all to enjoy.
