HILTON HEAD LUXURY LIVING AT A VALUE PRICE

Hilton Head Plantation House Rental Photos and Description

3 Bedrooms + Other (See Description), 2.5+ Baths (Sleeps 6-7)

This 2600 sq ft home sits on a spacious half acre lot amidst palms, bountiful azaleas and towering Carolina pines overlooking a scenic lagoon, and with easy proximity to the beach and golf inside the plantation either on a bike or by car. At the house, there is ample space for different activities for different people - cooking, reading, sunning, biking, watching movies, bird watching, listening to music - you may find you explore the area less because of this home's well designed comforts, elegance, and serenity.

Here escape the traffic, crowds, and noise that so often accompany beach destinations. Instead bike on one of the 4 bikes we've left for you, or walk on level pathways through forests past manicured golf courses, and fountains, or drive or bike within the plantation to the quietest beach on the island that the public cannot access. Bring the beach chairs we provide, your happy hour drinks for sunset, wiggle your toes in the sand, and breathe in the fresh sea air.

Later sample some of the locals' favorite waterfront restaurants close by. (We have left our suggestions for you). No neon signs, no casinos, no motorcycles, no bright night lights, but instead a respect for natural beauty, peacefulness, and recreation.

Of course, outside the plantation is a vast array of other seaside experiences - dolphin watching, golfing, (discount golf information is at the house), imaginative mini-putt, salt marsh kayaking , outlet mall shopping, museums, beach biking, or beach tanning/reading, Tuesday fireworks nights, tennis, water sports, boating - not to mention side trips to historic Charleston, and Savannah.

Hilton Head is renowned for tremendous restaurant quality, and value: there are so many competitors, you are ensured what you want is available at a reasonable price. Naturally, some nights you will enjoy dinner at home cooked in the fully equipped kitchen, and served outside on the patio, or in the formal dining room for a special meal shared with friends.

Will a week really be sufficient to do all this? We will discount your second consecutive week to help you solve that problem.

Where else can you experience the fun, and variety of a prime beach destination with all these house comforts, and the complimentary use of 5 bikes, a car bike rack, plus beach equipment - chairs, cooler, umbrella, and the cart to haul it all in? We want to guarantee you comfort, pleasure, and recessionary savings with no extra charges for cleaning or linens.

Come, experience Hilton Head Island. Rest, relax, recharge - reserve! You're going to love it here.

Words cannot express how much we have enjoyed spending the week in your beautiful home. Every aspect made us feel so comfortable.

We loved everything about the HH experience from the Old Fort Pub to the Oyster Festival, but especially your lovely home.

We are a recently retired couple who have for years shivered through winter, but no more! In our search for a warmer climate second home, Hilton Head's attractions outnumbered our other possibilities. Here was a controlled world, where long ago, planners envisioned an environment that respected nature's beauty, not destroyed it. Stringent controls have prevented neon signs; permits are necessary to remove trees; noise, and speed laws are enforced; lighting has to meet specific standards - this is a world of scenic beauty, and recreation. In addition, where else can you bike ride on the beach, for miles, your roses don't die over the winter, palms and azaleas thrive, plus you can drive from home?

Colleen and Don purchased this house in 2009

Life in Hilton Head Plantation is more relaxed and less busy than other areas since cars are not admitted through to sightsee the area. Many people live here year round, so it is not so transient, or seasonal. People here smile, and say hi even when they don't know you. It's friendly, scenic, comfortable, and readily accessible to amenities, many of which are here right inside the gates.

This house has spacious rooms which in addition to the outside views seen through the many windows, and skylights, seem to meld the outdoors with the indoors. We don't feel confined here, and part of that is a temperate climate that has a resort-like feel to it, so no matter the season, the outdoors can be enjoyed. The tropical palms swaying outside the screened porch, the Carolina swing under the portico, all contribute to relaxation. What else do we like here? The sunshine's sparkle on the lagoon, the birds' song at the feeder, quick bike trips to the beach, or fine restaurants, and the factory outlets just off the Island!

QUIET, HOMEY RETREAT

  • 5 of 5
We had a terrific week in this nicely furnished home. The neighborhood is very peaceful, and the layout of the home made it easy to find a quiet place to read or visit with family and friends. Thanks to the nice collection of bikes (they all are in good working condition), it is no trouble at all to ride 1/4 mile to a small neighborhood pool or 1 mile to the community activity park with a large pool and tennis courts. Dolphin Head beach is probably 2+ miles from the house, but is not nearly as nice a beach as Folly Field. We would recommend making the 15 minute drive to that beach and paying for parking.

This home has been very well maintained, and the kitchen has all the appliances, utensils and other items that are needed for home-prepared meals. Furnishings are very nice, clearly reflecting the owners' good tastes.

And speaking of the owners, we have never dealt with such a responsive and detail-oriented owner. Every aspect of our dealings with this owner was a pleasure.

Owner's Response: Hi James and Liz,
You were enthusiastic guests who were easy to help. You're right about Dolphin Head Beach being different than Folly Field, but that is what is so nice with so many HH beach choices, there is a different beach for different days' desires. Dolphin Head is wonderful in late afternoon since hardly anyone goes there. Just bring a chair, a hat, book and cool drink, and kick back. But no good for beach bike riding the way Folly Field is.
We want all our visitors to find the places and activities that make special their holiday. We are so glad your trip home went safely at the end of a fun week. Do come back and use your stored boogie board! Colleen

PERFECT FAMILY VACATION HOUSE

  • 5 of 5
We stayed for one blissful week. We appreciated Colleen's attention to detail and her suggestions to maximize our time. We had a great time on the bike trails, my husband golfed, we visited Colingy beach, Jarvis Creek park we saw a gator and lots of turtles, We ate at Chart House, very good food! Definitely great for a date night. Crazy Crab was also delicious and family friendly, we also visited the pools and met a lot of nice people! This home is very warm and inviting and we always felt safe. We had such a wonderful time and look forward to coming back again! Thank you Colleen & Don. We made so many great memories.

Owner's Response: Hi Hilary,
What a busy week of activity you all had! Because HH is only 5 X 12 miles in area, there is never too much time spent moving from one area of the island to another for various recreation. And with more than 20 golf courses, there is no chance of not finding exactly what suits your taste and budget.
The proximity of excellent restaurants both in value and menu choice along with miles of beaches and water views is why guests keep coming back as I so hope your family does.
Thank you also for sending me the picture of your family at our place - which helps in picturing you all having had so much fun.
Sincerely,
Colleen

GREAT HOME!

  • 5 of 5
Huge house with huge lot. Loved the 2,800 s.f. home and multiple outdoor areas. We enjoyed using the whole house and loved the quiet, peaceful neighborhood. You never knew there was anyone near you. Hilton Head Plantation was a beautiful, safe place to stay and enjoy our vacation. Colleen was wonderful to work with and we are happy we chose to stay here!

Owner's Response: Hi Sandra,
How terrific that you and your family - including your Dad - enjoyed so many of the activities and recreation choices in and around HH.
You were wonderful to correspond with and easy to provide with recommendations since you had told me about your family so I could cue my suggestions to them.
I also really appreciate your attention to the many birds and our feeders.
Hopefully even without a wedding to attend, you can return from Louisville for another visit.

My best to you all,
Colleen

PEACEFUL PARADISE

  • 5 of 5
A few moths ago we stayed in this home during the summer, and we simply cannot wait to return! We love traveling to Hilton Head, as the residents have taken care to keep the beach from becoming over-commercialized and have focused on keeping the island as natural as possible. We also love eating out on vacation and there are so many places we love that we simply can't get to them all in one week!

What made this home different from previous places we've stayed in Hilton Head was the peace and solitude that it afforded us. It truly was a home away from home. We sat on the screened-in porch every morning sipping our coffee, admiring the wildlife. We used the neighborhood pool, which was never crowded or noisy. There's a small private beach within the community, as well as lovely public beaches within ten minute drives. The beds were comfortable and the layout of the rooms meant no one disturbed others if they kept different hours. It is a beautiful home and we feel lucky that it is available for us to "borrow." We only wish we could stay longer than a week!

This home is so beautiful and so romantic, that during our stay my fiance and I got engaged! Now this home will always be special to us. And I highly recommend Trattoria Divina, the Italian restaurant where he proposed.

Thank you so much, Colleen and Don, for opening your home to us. We look forward to visiting again in the future.

Owner's Response: Hi Kristine,

How wonderful that our house for your Hilton Head vacation will always be the memory of your engagement.

The beauty that draws you repeatedly to this island is what also caused us to buy here: quiet and peacefulness when you want it, and very close by, endless recreation, shopping and wonderful restaurants.

What an excellent place for a honeymoon! Hope you can return soon.

GUEST FROM ALABAMA

  • 5 of 5
Comfortable home in a very desirable location as depicted in the pictures and commentary. Beautiful wooded lot, quiet street, and scenic bike trails. We enjoyed the area as it was very private, within bike riding distance of the beautiful Sound, yet close to an upscale grocery store and boutiques. For those never visiting Hilton Head it is a beautifully developed/maintained island with exquisite natural beauty yet many amenities and rich in culture. We enjoyed an event sponsored by the Hilton Head Symphony which was most enjoyable. We highly recommend and found the owners very helpful and nice!

Owner's Response: Hi Dona,

I'm so pleased that your stay at our house was exactly the type of experience you had planned. It sounds as if you have very similar tastes to us since you enjoyed the natural beauty of the island and our house, the extensive biking trails, and the wonderful HH symphony. I hope you can visit again to tap into more of the island's offerings.

Best regards,
Colleen

WONDERFUL

  • 5 of 5
My family's experience while at HHI could not have been better! Colleens home was the ideal setting for peaceful relaxation during our escape, clean, quiet, and well equipped. She also gave suggestions for activities, dining, and sites which we very much enjoyed. Can't wait for next year to enjoy this again.
