British Celebrity Magazine OK! features Amori House as a place to stay in the Bahamas! July 5th 2011 Issue. In the Travel Section article titled, 'Going Bahamas' OK! Magazine says....
"For the real Bahamian experience, rent an idyllic ocean-front cottage such as Amori House on Eleuthera island...this picture-perfect cottage sits on the beautiful Ten Bay Beach and is just 80 ft from the water's edge. With a pretty nautical decor, the one-bedroom cottage comes fully equipped with all the mod cons. One of OK!'s favorite places was sitting on the deck, sitting cocktail in hand, watching the sun set over the ocean."
Amori House is a Brand New Property built by the owner and completed October 2009.
Quietly nestled on 1 acre of oceanfront property, our cozy island-style house offers spectacular views of Ten Bay Beach which Frommers Guide 2010 calls 'one of the best beaches in The Bahamas, with sparkling turquoise water and a wide expanse of soft white sand.' Come walk a mere 80 feet to the shores of calm, clear, shallow waters perfect for swimmers of any skill level. And, a great location for those who like to fish and snorkel. Whether lounging on the deck or the beach, you will relax in the tranquility of peaceful sunsets and cool ocean breezes. With no immediate neighbors on either side of the home, Amori House is a truly private island experience not found at crowded condos and hotels. Our amenities include wireless internet, air conditioning, sea kayaks for exploring gorgeous Ten Bay Beach and inexpensive private catering among many other things!

Ten Bay Beach is tranquility at its best. At first when we were looking for property on Eleuthera my husband and I were looking for something that was already built. But when our agent took us to a piece of beachfront land that was available on Ten Bay Beach, we fell in love with the stunning beach and its peace and tranquility. We purchased the property thinking that if all we ever did with it was to pitch a tent when we visited it would be worth it. Now that we've completed a cute house, we can put away that tent and enjoy stunning sunsets and ocean breezes from our deck.
Open the doors and walk directly onto one of the best beaches the Bahamas has to offer!
The beach has great snorkeling on either end of the bay.
Ten Bay Beach is a great spot for fishing.
The house is located: - 80 feet from the beach. - 15 minutes from the main town Governor's Harbour where you'll find grocery stores, banks, restaurants, etc. - 10 minutes from Island Farm- great place to get fresh produce and spectacular fresh baked bread. We can assist with: - Car rental - Arrange for private chef (both Island and American cuisine)
We hesitate to brag about Amori House only because our selfishness does not want Ten Bay to become popular...can't it remain the secret of just a few? The seclusion in plain sight is awesome. Amori is the PERFECT spot for human battery recharge. Our return visit to old friend Ten Bay was greatly enhanced with the ability to reside on the beach. It truly does not get any better than Amori House with post card sunsets, best beach lounging in the Bahamas, no-drift floating in the bay, pressure free snorkling, calm kayaking waters, Causarina shade for book reading and just enough Wi-Fi to gloat on FaceBook. Ama is such a gracious owner to offer their home for others to enjoy and was great to work with in advance of our trip. Island Farms' Anne set us up for our stay and then had all the great veggies, pesto, sauces and breads to highlight our home cooked meals. Then there's Double Bay just a few minutes to the other side of the island for sunrises and beach lounging seclusion. Check out some of Eleuthera's other lonely, pristine, pink sand beaches on the Atlantic side (Whiteland was superb), but you'll find yourself back at Ten Bay treating yourself to 4 o'clock cocktails and Kalik.
The Amori House exceeded our expectations. Ama was straightforward and easy to deal with and her caretakers were wonderful and helpful. The house was clean, comfortable and is located on a very lovely beach. The swimming directly in front of the house was excellent and the house is in a central position on the island which made travelling and exploring what each end of Eleuthera has to offer easy. My husband caught fish off the rocks on the north side end of the beach. I loved drifting and snorkeling in the calm waters right in front of the house. We hope to return again.
My friend and I booked the Amori House for a girlfriends' getaway and we are so happy that we did! The owners were so attentive and helpful from the beginning to the end! They answered all of our questions and gave us suggestions for anything that we could think of- car rental, chef services, restaurants, etc. The house was stunning and had everything we could want for an incredible vacation including snorkel gear, beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, pots, pans, and the most amazing air conditioning! It was as comfortable as being at home, but on the most beautiful beach imaginable. We woke up to a stunning view every morning and while we did visit many areas of the island, we could have walked out the back door and stayed at Ten Bay Beach every day and been perfectly happy! We also greatly appreciated the assistance of Anne and Clyde, the house managers, and Teresa at the farm, who were so friendly and helpful. We look forward to going back to the Amori House and feel so fortunate to have found this gem!
Our week at Amori House was simply heavenly. While all the beaches in Eleuthera are gorgeous, Ten Bay Beach is incredible... so peaceful, calm and crystal clear. When we could tear ourselves away from the deck or beach, we had a wonderful time exploring Eleuthera. The people are particularly friendly, and the scenery can't be beat. Amori House is extremely tasteful and comfortable. We enjoyed the sea kayaks and snorkeling gear too. The sunsets were so beautiful, we ate dinner at the house most every night and followed it up with a sunset stroll on the beach. If you want to 'get away from it all' and love the beach, this is the place for you! We can't wait to return to Eleuthera and Amori House.
The beach is incredible. SO peaceful at night and in the morning. Being right ON the beach and not HAVING to drive, was such a nice option. You have the beach to yourself. As mentioned, then public access is next door, so some people come by on and off during the day. The whole Southern part of the island is worth exploring - a car with high clearance is advised, especially if you want to go all the way south to Lighthouse Bay and Beach - which is worth the drive!). None of it is crowded. Each beach will WOW you! Ate in some with fresh seafood, bread and veggies. Ate out some - Tippy's & The Beach House. Get Reservations (we didn't know this...). Also had Mate & Jenny's conch pizza. Friday night fish fry is okay too. A bit touristy, but we met some fun folks and the food is authentic an yummy.
As everyone says, Anne is GREAT! As a matter of fact, ALL of the locals are great.
This was the perfect place to unwind. Every day was sunny and in the low 80's. Only rain was one night when we were in bed. There is a public access to the beach right next door but very few people used it while we were there. Most days we had the beach to ourselves. It is a great beach to walk early morning, no seeums can be fierce come sundown so bring the bug spray. The water was perfect for swimming. Kayaking in both directions was very interesting. We snorkeled but did not see an abundance of fish. The house is just like the pictures show and being on the Caribbean side the water was much calmer then the Atlantic side. The WiiFi was on and off all week and nothing that we could count on. The owners provide a nice reference book with maps of the island and places to go and see. Anne, the house keeper is also very helpful and her farm is about 3 miles down the road. We got many fruits and veggies there and the best baked bread on Tues. and Fri. If you want to visit a lot of the other beaches on the island rent a 4 WD vehicle many of the roads are not paved and can be rather rough. The people who live on the island are very friendly and helpful with directions as there are not a lot of signs. We flew in to the airport on the north end of the island but Governors Harbor airport is much closer to the house. This is definitely the place to go if you want peace and quiet.
