The house is on the canal by the dam where you can hear waterfalls, very quiet area but minutes to main lake.

Beautiful view from dining room and living room, large fireplace in living room for cool nights. Excellent fishing from new dock, paddle boat available. About Jacqueline Stachura

I've been renting my properties for the past 9 years, met many interesting people and acquired new friends. I furnish my houses and condos as though I personally live there and my renters are pleased to find a home away from home. I use my rental income to offset expenses and upgrade my properties, I recently put on a beautiful new dock on my Little York Lake house. Always willing to listen to the needs of my clients and hear suggestions. Important to me that everyone has a great vacation that they well deserve.

Jacqueline Stachura purchased this house in 2003

Why Jacqueline Stachura chose Cortland

I fell in love with the quiet, serenity of the lake and the view from the living room. Then I met the people in the area and I was sold.

What makes this house unique

Peace, quiet and beautiful view of the lake.

Terrific Lodging

  • 5 of 5

We selected Little York Lake as our destination for our annual "Male-Bonding Weekend" and we're glad we did !

The cottage was exactly as pictured in the VRBO ad and was very well-equipped with all the necessities. Great housing !!

Great little place

  • 5 of 5

Excellently maintained and cute bungalow right on the water. Three, good sized bedrooms that sleep 6: two full beds in two rooms, and bunk beds in the third bedroom. Kitchen and baths are highly functional, as was grill. We would have like to have stayed longer but we were visiting my daughter at Syracuse, which is an easy 30 minute drive away. Very quiet neighborhood, with easy access from I81, although you can hear the highway, but it isn't loud. I would definitely stay here again.

Little York Lake Property

  • 5 of 5

We stayed for 2 weeks and it was enjoyable. The home is lovely and the yard facing the dock and water was very accessible. For Fathers day we had the family join us and the rain kept us in doors the living room was large enough for us just fine. The owner was very helpful and I would recommend this home to anyone. The town of Homer is a lovely place quaite and has good eating places. The property was well clean.

Perfect lake vacation for the kids

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I, our 4 kids (ages 5,7,9,11) and my parents stayed at Jackie's cottage over Labor Day weekend. We had a great time. It was just what we were looking for. The kids were able to fish, kayak (we brought our own kayaks), paddleboat and swim. The location on the little canal by the dam was perfect for letting the kids take the kayaks/boat out by themselves. We could see them easily. They caught lots of little fish off the dock. They also enjoyed swimming. It was clear and shallow right off the dock and they didn't seem to mind the weeds even when they went farther away. Our only suggestion would be some type of ladder off of the end of the dock since it was harder for the youngest/oldest to get out of the water once they went in. (Could get out at shore but very weedy). The house was great too. Everything we needed. Kitchen was well stocked with dishes/cookware/utensils. Often when we travel as a family of 6 we find there are not enough dishes/utensils! Not the case here. The washer/dryer came in handy especially for those wet towels. My parents enjoyed relaxing in the yard and watching the grandkids have fun! The kids have already put the cottage on their "must-do" list for 2013! So glad the kids were able to experience all the fun of the lake in such a great setting!

Relaxing and Peaceful Vacation

  • 5 of 5

Even though the weather was cool and rainy, my week at Jackie's lake house was very enjoyable and relaxing. The house is spotless and beautiful, with all the comforts and conveniences of home. The area is very peaceful and the neighbors friendly. The yard and dock are great for enjoying a book or just watching the ducks, geese and blue heron. Within walking distance are a produce/bakery stand and an ice cream stand. I also discovered a wonderful area for anyone that is a nature lover - Lime Hollow Nature Center in Cortland. This free-of-charge center features wooded and open trails bordering streams, ponds and bogs, along with plant and wildlife. Jackie's house is first-rate and I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Hot Summer!

  • 4 of 5

Our stay at Jackie's house was great! We brought our tandem kayak and toured the lake-it's a beautiful little lake. We also took the paddleboat out for a run as well. When we stayed it was EXTREMELY hot-during the day and just one night it was a little unbearable, the other nights, although hot out it was comfortable sleeping weather. Jackie was nice enough to let us use a fan for the living room/dining room area. We went fishing off the dock-although not much was caught other than little sunnies, we had fun. It is a quiet area, perfect for my children. We were looking for a getaway not too far from home, but far enough to escape! We went to nearby Skaneateles, and fell IN LOVE...it is a MUST see when visiting, only about a half hour or so away-we went back 3 days! There is a park at the other end of Little York Lake that is perfect for little ones. We also took a trip into Cortland and visited the little shops there. The comforts of home are all in close proximity as there is a Tops and Walmart and other chain stores nearby in case you need something...even an Aldi! Jackie was extremely helpful, and was quick to answer any questions that we had. If you are looking for a lakehouse, without paying too much for a vacation, this is a great quality place to stay!
