This is my mother's second home. She enjoys her other home in Clemmons, NC. I am a local Tampa Realtor with Keller Williams South Tampa and a member of the Greater Tampa Association of Realtors.
Leslie Sibbitt purchased this cottage in 2007
My mother wanted to have a home in Tampa so she could be near me. She lives in North Carolina part of the year near my sister.
This home offers a peaceful, secure and stylish setting, yet is just minutes away from everything Tampa Bay has to offer.
Generally speaking we were very disappointed with this advertised as handicap accessible property, for indeed it was not what we expected or had been led to believe. In fact, it was only because we had brought with us, ramps that my wife even able to enter/exit the cottage. Also, contrary to what the photos implied the bathroom was not sufficiently large or wide enough to easily manipulate my wife's scooter as the toilet was tucked into a small alcove and entry to the shower had a 4" wide and 5" high step which presented serious problems for a person with mobility problems, as there were only to two short safety bars located out of reach for a small handicapped person. For the two months of our stay, this was ongoing issue of great concern. And although the cottage was clean and well appointed, it is hidden down a narrow ally way and difficult to enter with a large van. We attempted to contact the owner's reps but never heard from them. Advertisement on this site and indeed, across thef vbro.com website needs to be made more specific and in conformity with the US law concerning accommodation suggested or recommended for people with disabilities. We had considered returning north during our first week, but the investment we had made in renting the property and the poor weather up north, dissuaded us from doing so. All & all, a most disappointing experience.
The house was very cozy and well furnished. I especially liked the screened porch and private back yard. From this location, you can walk on a new city trail that leads all the way downtown.
We stayed here for two weeks while visiting our daughter in Tampa. The Coppett Cottage was clean, well maintained, well equipped and the furnishings made you feel at home. Sitting on a side street it was very quiet. Screened in porch was great for an afternoon glass of wine. Great area for walks. There are two parks nearby. Very well located to get to anywhere in Tampa. You can't go wrong following Dave's recommendations for restaurants and other things to do.
The house is a quaint little cottage like home that was excellent for our family of four. Well kept, very clean and contact with the owner was on-going and she got back to us right away. I would recommend this property to a small family - any bigger than 4 would not work.
Great little home -- clean, quiet, and close to downtown and area attractions. I recommend this home highly, and thank Leslie for her attention to cleanliness and being so responsive to questions that I posed.
Very neat and clean, comfortable home that was beautifully furnished. The neighborhood was lovely for evening walks and the very private back yard was serene and great for morning coffee.
