Imagine throwing your overnight bag in the car and spending several peaceful days in this luxurious, lakefront log cabin without missing any of the comforts of home. When you arrive at his home, named ‘Home Wind’ from Longfellow’s Song of Hiawatha, it welcomes you with all of the amenities you could possibly need for a relaxing and rejuvenating stay.
The main floor boasts hand-crafted cathedral ceilings in the spacious dining and living areas, and sports a large deck overlooking the lake, just 100 feet from the beach, with ample open views. The master bedroom and bathroom are also on the main floor, featuring a queen-sized bed, doors to covered porch, claw foot soaking tub and separate shower.
For the cooks out there, the country kitchen sports stainless steel appliances and a WOLF stove for your gourmet recipes. You’ll feel just like a Food Network star! There’s also a roomy walk-in pantry, soapstone sink and rich cherry counter tops. Historic antique flooring, throughout the entire home, is well over 100 years old.
The upstairs features two bedrooms; one with two twin beds and the other a cozy queen bed. For extra comfort and convenience, they share a full bathroom. The walk-out basement includes a roomy family room and large bunk room with two twin beds and a set of bunk beds, for the kid in all of us! In the summertime the soft, sandy 300-foot waterfront is great for children of all ages.
Visitors love to kayak, swim, fish and dive off the swim platform. The wintertime hosts snowmobilers, skiers and ice fishermen. There’s a serene beauty that will allow you to simply melt into your surroundings, regardless of what you’re doing. The southwestern sunset views toward the mountains are a welcome treat for the eyes and soul. And for an unexpected pleasure, there’s an outdoor shower complete with hot water. While the soothing water cascades over your shoulders, the refreshing mountain air gently caresses you, for a truly blissful experience. The way life should be.
