'The Shack' at Murder Creek Plantation in Jasper County, Georgia, is a renovated tenant house from the 1920's. It is located on a large pine plantation near Charlie Elliot Wildlife Preserve. Being far from a big town definitely has its advantages, especially if you like to do bird-watching, astronomy, hunt, fish, hike in the woods, and just enjoy the great outdoors in general.
'The Shack' has an open floor plan with three bunk bed sets, enough to accommodate 6 people. There is a dining table and chairs, a fully-equipped kitchen, and a living room with big leather sofa and gas fireplace. No, you don't have an outhouse--there is a modern bath with a shower. Just out the back door is a large deck with a grill. There is also a fire pit in the back yard.
If you want to dine out, the famous Blue Willow Inn is just a few minutes away. Reynolds Plantation and the Ritz Carlton at Lake Oconee are a 30-minute drive.
