Apartment, Studio, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2)

This beautiful apartment is literally situated in one of the best districts and streets in Paris!

Filled with light and with a feeling of calm & serenity, this apartment exudes history and charm. The building dates from the 16th Century, the famous French revolutionary Marat lived in this building and Picasso lived and worked in the building next door.

Right opposite the apartment are two of the best French restaurants in Paris and in one is the place where the young King Louis XIII was crowned one hour before the death of his father Henry IV (see photos).

We have just completely refurbished the apartment with great effort and taste and there is a brand new kitchen and a beautifully spacious bathroom with a very large and powerful shower. You will also find a once again brand new King size bed that is extremely comfortable with 100% Egyptian cotton linen with a high thread count. There is a flat screen TV, hi-fi, high speed wireless internet and DVD player as well as an ipod connection. The apartment is fitted with a secure access code for your security. Set back from the street it also looks onto a very quiet inner courtyard so it is completely silent yet just seconds from all the vibrant atmosphere of St Germain. Furthermore, it is a one minute walk from the Metro St Michel that links you directly to the airport CDG and the Gare du Nord so it extremely easy to get to.

Rue des Grands Augustins is a wonderfully quiet street with almost no traffic as it is so narrow. At one end you have the river Seine with spectacular views over the famous Eglise de Notre Dame. On the other end of the street the winding magical streets of the historic St. Germain unfold. The bars, restaurants, tea shops and boutique shops are all within a stones throw of the apartment. You are just 3/4 minutes walk from the famous Rue de Buci its famous flower market and endless delicious brasseries which spill over onto the street. The Boulevard de St Germain , famous for its extensive clothes shopping is again only a couple of minutes walk. There is an organic supermarket around the corner and furthermore all the essential amenities such as Pharmacies, food markets and supermarkets are all within very close proximity.

This really is a gem of an apartment and anyone who rents it, has always been be very happy here!

About The Owner

I am married to a Frechman Jerome and together him and I live more or less between London and Paris. I am British but originally from New York in the USA although I have lived almost my entire life in the UK. We have two young children, our daughter Noa who is 7 yrs old and a little boy Oskar who is 3 years old. We are both passionate about Paris and this is very much a family run business run entirely by Jerome and I.

Why The Owner chose 6th Arrondissement St Germain des Pres

We bought this apartment in St Germain because there is really no other area like it. Some people refer to this area as the 'Golden Triangle' of Paris as it is the most sought after area with all of its history and charm. St Germain has a wonderful combination of rambling magical streets with some of the best restaraunts in Paris whilst also having the Boulevard de St Germain with all its famous clothes shops and Brasseries. It is also directly linked to both the Gare du Nord and the major airports by train.

What makes this apartment unique

To stay in this apartment is to stay in a wondefully quiet and cosy apartment that is also very bright and airy. It is the best location in Paris with the River Seine at the end of your street and all the most famous bars and restaurants of Paris on your doorstep. Picasso used to live on this street as well as the famous French revolutionary Marat.

Hidden Gem in an Amazing Location!!

I could not have been more pleased or picked a more perfect place to call home for my month stay in Paris! The flat is located in what I believe to be one of the best neighborhoods in all of Paris and the location was ideal to explore this amazing city -I walked everywhere or took the metro.

The flat was very charming, clean and had everything I needed. Both Dorrie & Pierre were a delight to work with- extremely responsive & helpful. I loved my stay and have already referred several friends. I will definitely stay here on my next trip to Paris if available.

Cozy and Comfortable Studio Apartment in a Superb Location

This apartment is admittedly quite small, but the layout and the fixtures have been arranged to maximize its comfort. The bed is good, the shower is lovely, the heated towel rack was much appreciated in late winter, and the kitchen is modern and well-appointed. The building is charming (especially the well-worn, winding front stairwell), as is the street where it is located. The location is superb, close to the Ile de la Cite, close to the Latin Quarter, close to the Louvre, only a block from the banks of the Seine, with perfectly acceptable cafes and restaurants in the surrounding streets. We ended up taking the Metro only to and from the airport, and just walking in our neighborhood and to the surrounding areas during our stay. There was nothing not to like about this place, and we will definitely consider staying here again if it's available during our next trip to Paris.

Great value in the heart of Paris!

We had a pleasant stay at this apartment. It was roomy enough for two and had everything we needed for the week. Nice large bed with quality linens, hot showers, plenty of large towels, and a strong heater. Pierre was very nice and brought us a hair dryer immediately when the previous one broke. We loved staying on the 6th, it was a foodies paradise. This location is very convenient to the metros. Over all, this rental was a great value.

Lovely little studio

I really enjoyed my stay here and would definitely return. Pictures on the website are very accurate. It's small but perfectly formed. Love the bathroom, great shower and plenty of room. Very comfy bed, I slept like a log. It's really central and within walking distance of lots of places of interest. Lots of good restaurants within a few minutes walk. I'm very particular re cleanliness and found the studio immaculate. Good quality bedding and lovely soft fluffy towels. A proper hair dryer too. Dorrie and Pierre were great to deal with, great friendly service.

Ideal pied-a-terre

We couldn't have been more pleased. The location is perfect as you can walk to most places (we only hit the metro once). Still, while being a stone's throw from the hustle and bustle of the Latin Quarter and St. Germain, the street itself is very quiet and the flat, facing the courtyard on the third floor was totally peaceful.

The flat itself is bright, comfortable and well appointed with everything you might need. We felt completely at home there. Pierre, the flat manager, while in the midst of welcoming a new child to his family, still went out of his way to be helpful and make sure we well taken care of.

In short, if you want a clean, charming, well-outfitted flat for two in an ideal location, you can't go wrong here. We will certainly go back on our next visit.
