Grand Marais Cabin Rental Photos and Description
Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4-6)
It is the quiet that you'll first notice. We're almost at the end of the paved road, surrounded by woods and water. Located on the north shore of 7 mile long Devil Track Lake, you'll awake to the lonely call of the loons and the sound of water lapping on the sand beach. You'll notice the night sky too - no lights to interfere with the Milky Way and the wheeling stars.
2-3 night minimum spring and fall seasons.
Weekly only summer season June 21-Sept. 1.
Clean, clear water for swimming, fishing or boating will attract you, as well as the crisp clean air. Hiking and mountain biking trails are nearby, but maybe you'll just want to barbecue on the deck and enjoy a meal at the picnic table. Maybe prepare a gourmet dinner in the full kitchen. But you'll want to spend as much time as possible outside, and near the water. It will feed your soul.
The Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness has access points within 10 miles. Or enjoy a little used hiking/ski trail just across the road(great for dogs).
The picturesque town of Grand Marais is only 11 miles away with shopping, dining, music and theatre options for entertainment.
Head up the famous Gunflint Trail for more hiking, swimming and fishing, maybe sample some of the restaurants at the rustic lodges.

Why Jane and Jim Shinners chose Grand Marais
Just 11 miles from Grand Marais and its shops, restaurants and local culture, Devil Point Cabin is at the end of the paved road and on the edge of the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Easy access to our favorite activities, canoeing, biking, kayaking, swimming and hiking are all right out the door, along with great fishing.
What makes this cabin unique
It's the quiet that is so appealing here - broken sometimes by the call of a loon or Barred Owls. Occasionally wolves can be heard howling in the hills. We've spent entire evenings tucked in a sleeping bag on the deck while the Aurora Borealis lights the northern sky. Wake up to see the sunrise over the lake, and watch the fog burn off over the water as the day warms up. Maybe a bracing swim before breakfast on the deck. Those are our favorite times. A walk in the woods across the road with the dog is perfect anytime of day. But this spot is about being out of doors and reconnecting with nature.
Guestbook comments from the owner
After 100 miles of "no vacancy" signs on a Saturday in September, seeing one at Harbor Inn in the middle of Grand Marais had to be a mistake. Instead, the owners directed us here to the most pleasant surprise imaginable! You truly have a gem here in the middle of this beautiful country. We plan on coming back and spending more time so we can enjoy everything you have to offer. Thank you!!
