This studio suite suited our needs perfectly. We wanted to stay in downtown Newport, where we could walk wherever we wanted to go; knowing that the car was parked in a safe place. (The narrow, cobblestone streets of Newport were made for horse-drawn carriages, not automobiles) The studio suite was comfortable, spotlessly clean, and tastefully decorated. Our hosts, Karen and Thom, could not have been nicer, or more helpful. They gave us tips about new restaurants and shops in town, and showed us around the property. They wanted to be certain that we were comfortable, knew where everything was, and that all of our questions were answered. They keep a lovely garden and patio, with gas grills, for relaxing with a cold beverage on a summer afternoon, or for grilling fresh fish. Although the house is only two blocks from the bustling business district, it is well insulated from any noise with a natural barrier of trees and shrubs. It's a truly lovely, relaxing, place. I would surely recommend it to anyone seeking a relaxing vacation.
This was a comfy home away from home in beautiful Newport, RI. Karen and Tom were very helpful with dining suggestions and sightseeing ideas throughout the week. Prior to our arrival Karen made dinner reservations for our anniversary at The Mooring. When my notebook was not working Tom offered to help and loaned us his laptop. The off street private parking was such a bonus and the hidden garden oasis was just the perfect spot to unwind with cocktails before dinner. The suite was tastefully decorated and had all the modern conveniences of home; it was so nice to wake up in the morning and have fresh coffee. Best of all the Inn was within walking distance to all of the great attractions of Newport!

The location was perfect -- it was right in the middle of everything, without being noisy. The suite was lovely, clean, and well maintained, and the owners were friendly, helpful, and lived in the same building. We were surprised that there were other apartments in the building with permanent residents, but we didn't hear them at all. We were also surprised there was no kitchenette -- we did all our food preparation on the desk or the coffee table -- but we were very happy with the bar fridge and the microwave. There is private parking, which was great because parking in Newport is a bit of a challenge, and a beautiful private garden with a bbq, patio furniture, and sunshade.
We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the town, all on foot since we were so close to the main tourist areas. We ate at a different restaurant every night and didn't have a single bad meal. We rode around Newport to check out the scenery, which was all within a fifteen minute drive from the apartment. We spent a day in Boston, less than two hours away (if you avoid rush hour), and another day in Cape Cod, less than three hours away.
We definitely recommend this place, and already have to our friends!
I loved my vacation. I was looking for a place to get away and relax and found just the right place. The house and the setting are fantastic. It is located walking distance to shopping and restaurants and right across the street from a park, which made it very convenient for my four legged friends. The suite is very comfortable, clean and tastefully decorated. It felt like a true home away from home. The garden patio is beautifully landscaped like a little oasis in the city. The owners Karen and Tom were so kind and thoughtful. I enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful garden patio with a glass of wine and new friends. Karen and Tom, Just wanted to let you both know what a wonderful vacation I had in Newport and that you made all the difference. You both made me feel very special and right at home. I look forward to coming back. Sincerely, Sandra, Lizzie & Gracie
