ROMANTIC COSY COTTAGE OVERLOOKING PIGEON COVE HARBOR AND THE OCEAN BEYOND

Joseph welcomed us to their lovely harbour cottage. It is perfect in every way.
We were delighted with the amenities, cleanliness layout and location of the cottage.
We ate lobsters and clams at the restaurant at Pigeon Cove - dine in or take out.
We bought lobsters "off the boat" at Lane's Cove where there is also a small quiet beach. Towns of Gloucester and Rockport are very close where we found everything except a touchless car wash!!! Highly recommended for couples; it is close to a fairly busy road, however it is quiet and peaceful at night for sleeping with the windows open.

My husband and I stayed at Joseph and Susan's cottage in late June. We wanted a houskeeping cottage but did not want to have to bring a lot of things with us for such a stay. This cottage was well equipped with more than the basics. It was very neat and tidy. It is small but divided into rooms or areas in such a way that really helped us relax and feel at home there. Like many properties in the area, it has beautiful plants and flowers.
We had been to the North Shore before and wanted to do some activites in the area. We went sea kayaking and were fortunate enough to see Harbor Seals at Thacher Island. We traveled to Essex, had a guided tour of the museum there and ate at one of the restaurants recommended at the cottage. We could walk back and forth from the village of Rockport and attended an event at the beautiful new music center. We also walked back and forth from Halibut reservation, learned about the granite industry and enjoyed the Rocky seashore. One of our favorite bookstores is in Manchester-by-the-Sea (Manchester by the Book) and we discovered the Coolidge reservation and Long Hill near there. We went to Glouster to buy fresh fish. On this trip we chose not to go on a whale watch but we did visit a museum on the waterfront. We went to Plum Island and saw many bird species.
The cottage is located at an intersection and in a populated area. It was private but may not be the best choice for individuals who want more solitude.
Our son and his family visited one evening and enjoyed time with us. They were impressed!
Joseph and Susan left us some breakfast supplies, as promised, and returned our cleaning fee shortly after we returned home. We will definately recommend this cottage to other people.

We spent a couple of nights at the cottage last summer and it was truly romantic. Amenities were great, sunset views were spectacular and the owners could not have been more gracious and helpful
