Tahoe City has it all! Proximity to hiking, skiing, biking, shopping, casinos. It's what we love to do and we hope you will, too!

We love walking or biking to Sunnyside or into Tahoe City, spending a day by the lake or taking a hike to Paige Meadows. Afternoons and evenings find us on the deck, firing up the BBQ and enjoying the peace and quiet.

Great Location- comfortable and clean!

  • 5 of 5
We just returned from a week here with 4 adults and 3 kids. The home is very well-appointed- just about everything we forgot to pack or buy- they had! The location was ideal- less than a mile walk to Sunnyside and just as close to downtown Tahoe City. We spent lots of time on the deck- and the kids loved running around the large back and side lawn. Other reviews mention difficulty with cell-service, but Verizon worked just fine for me. We would definitely stay here again!

Great Location, Comfortable Home

  • 4 of 5
Got back earlier this week from 5 days at the home. We had two families stay, 4 adults and 3 kids all under 8y old. I would give it 4.5 stars - it's very comfortable with cabin-like decor. The kitchen was very open with both a large table and a "breakfast bar" where the kids loved to sit and get served morning pancakes. The living room had plenty of space with a nice gas fireplace. It's all on one floor so very few stairs to worry about if you bad knees or someone not as mobile.

The bedrooms were medium sized but had enough room and lots of closet space. You certainly get more space here than down the street at Granlibakken. The only "drawback" is that the 2nd bathroom is connected to the kids bunkbed room, but that didn't bother us at all. Internet access is pretty fast though cell reception is spotty (we had AT&T and Sprint, Sprint seemed better).

Overall, both families really enjoyed the space and would definitely rent here again. The location is awesome, really close to Tahoe City, Granlibakken, Homewood, Squaw, etc. It's not "uber modern" - i.e. if you're the kind of folks that want fancy granite countertops, modern TVs, etc, this isn't the place - but then again who goes up to Tahoe for that?

Finally, the owner (Peter) was very easy to work with and helpful. He was proactive and also answered any of my questions promptly. Definitely a very positive experience!

Wonderful stay in great location

  • 5 of 5
We loved this well appointed and clean home. The kitchen was well equipped. The beds were comfortable. There was plenty of space for two families of 4. The kids loved the teddy bears and electric blankets and played on the large porch. We enjoyed strolling around the neighborhood and shoreline. Great location. We would definitely come back. The only drawbacks: the Suburban wouldn't fit inside the garage (not that it mattered because it wasn't snowing on this trip) and the cell phone service (at least for ATT) was sketchy.

Close to skiing and Lake activities

  • 4 of 5
My family and I spent the week after Christmas in this well-appointed home in Tahoe City. The house and kitchen were well-equipped and very comfortable. We were close to several ski areas and to town for shopping or dinner. The owner is very responsive and prompt. We would gladly stay again sometime.

Great weekend!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at the cabin in October and the weather was perfect with a cool evening breeze. The colors were turning and it was absolutely beautiful. I love how serene the cabin is but when my little boy didn't feel well it was very easy to run to a store for some medicine. My parents and wife had never been to Lake Tahoe and this cabin was a perfect way for them to experience it. Easy access to trails, hiking, and of course, the lake. My kids had a great time, too! Very comfortable and clean.

Owner's Response: Glad you and your family had a good time in Tahoe. Although Tahoe is great year round, Trish and I especially enjoy the quieter "shoulder seasons" of spring and fall!

Comfortable stay and good location

  • 5 of 5
We 4 adults and 4 kids enjoyed 9 nights at this comfortable, well-equipped home. Conveniently located to downtown Tahoe City. We walked to Tahoe House for great coffee and pastries, rode bikes from the house to the Truckee River trail and downtown, and enjoyed nearby hikes. Front deck was excellent and festive with outdoor speakers and string of lights. It was a large deck and we had a couple families join us on an evening for bbq dinner on their BBQ and s'mores on our portable fire pit. We even had a black bear sighting in the back yard!
