GREAT Fall and Winter Rates! This Lake Jackson luxury home is located on deep water in one of the most coveted areas on the lake. There is a gently sloping lawn that ends in a new covered dock with sunning platform. A free pontoon is available with this rental. There is a wood burning fireplace & hot tub available in cooler weather.
The view is absolutely wonderful & can be enjoyed from 3 levels of the house.
This home is spacious & roomy with 4 bedrooms, 3 and ½ baths with a finished basement. It has a wonderful “home away from home” feel with special features such as two swings & a custom made counter- height table that comfortably seats ten people. All linens are allergy free & luxury quality.
There is a Master on the Main Level & a second Master on upper level. There are two king beds, two queen beds, and two full to queen comfortable sleepers. There are two great rooms with flat screen TVs. There is a pool table in the lower great room. Wireless Internet is available.
This lakefront home is six miles from Jackson, Georgia where you can go antiquing, bowling, golfing, and dining. It is about twelve miles from Locust Grove, Georgia and one of the best outlet malls in the south.
Indian Springs is just a few minutes away. In addition to the park, Indian Springs also has a number of other attractions such as the Dauset Trails Nature Center & Indian Springs Village. The Ice Cream shop in the Village has wonderful home made fudge.
For travelers coming from out of state, this home is less than 1 hour from the Atlanta Airport and Downtown Atlanta attractions such as the Atlanta Aquarium, and 30 minutes from Atlanta Motor Speedway. If you are coming in town for the Augusta Masters, it is 1 1/2 hours from Augusta.
We are one of two families who rented the home for Spring Break. The home and lake are beautiful and the owners were very gracious hosts. The home was clean and decorated tastefully. The linens, bedding, and beds were top notch, which made it even more like home. FYI for fellow allergist, some of the comforters and pillows are feather. :) The wireless connection worked great as well as the cable. The boat access was a fantastic perk with this rental. The pool table and ping pong table were entertaining for all of us. The beautiful kitchen had most cooking needs, but could use larger bowls for serving and maybe a couple cookie sheets. The dining room table had plenty of room for both families at meal time. The neighbors were friendly, as well as the people in town. We bought fresh eggs from a family down the street, visited the Whistle Stop Cafe from the movie Fried Green Tomatoes, visited Noah's Ark, shopped at the Tanger Outlets, we fished everyday and caught quite a few fish, and enjoyed a nice boat ride. We wanted to get away, and this vacation was perfect for that. There are so many amenities that this home offers like Propane fryer if you want a fish fry, beach towels, extra blankets, movies, board games, fire place with fire wood, grill, patio table with chairs on deck, hot tub, hanging porch swing on upper deck, porch swing on lower level, beautiful boat/fishing dock with outdoor lighting for night time, small boat ramp next to dock, parking outside for two vehicles and room enough for another two in garage if needed, fishing poles...pretty much everything you'll need they have thought of. We would definitely rent this home again.
The main floor of the house is handicap-accessible.Suction cup grab bars work well in the Master shower. Grade to boathouse fairly steep. Pontoon boat is great for mobility-impaired persons.Love the counter-heighth dining table and chairs. Everything is sparkling clean and the owners have one out of their way to see that the home is stocked with all the right amenities. Beautiful view of the lake and a very family-friendly house. A definite 10!
Awesome home, location and rental experience. The description and photos of the property could not be more accurate. Our family ranges in age from 3 to 58 and there was truly something for everyone. Our only complaint is our 5 day stay ended too soon. We left there with plans to return next year. Our search for a family retreat location will be no more...this is it! Nicely furnished and spacious home, beautiful lake, pontoon, pool table, ping pong table and very accommodating owners.
we had a great family vacation. loved the porch....the weather was exceptionally beautiful! had loads of fun on the boat rides, etc as well as tubing that the younger generation fully enjoyed.
owners were very accomodating and helpful. in all I would recommend this property to anyone.....Lake Jackson is beautiful....
This is our 2nd time at Richard & Dottie's place and once again, our family had a wonderful time. The home is spacious and beautifully decorated. We love the access to the Pontoon boat. We will continue to visit this home each year as we are never disappointed.
We all had a great time and took advantage of all this property had to offer! Even when it was raining we still had plenty to stay entertained between the TV, pool and ping pong tables and playing board games. The house is very comfortable and the view is great from both the upper and lower porch. The pontoon ran great for us all week and only used about 12 gallons of gas despite running it all over the lake everyday. Whether out on the lake, floating at the dock or inside gaming it was a great week.
If you happen to be there on July 4th, there may be a boat parade that starts at the dam at 7 or 7:30pm. It was canceled this year beause the weather predictions were so dire. Something to consider doing.
Our only take out meal was Fresh Air BBQ (about 15-ish minutes away). It absolutely lived up to its award of 'Best BBQ in GA'. You really don't want to be in the area without trying it.
One of the many great features of the home is the dining table. It sat at least 10 and was perfect for group meals and games. The kitchen was well stocked and had plenty of room for preparing meals.
Regarding food - We bought most of what we needed in advance and brought it with us since everyone took a different night to cook dinner, needed specific ingredients and we didn't want to spend precious time driving to the grocery. That said, There is a gas/convenient store for basic staples and ice just 5 or so minutes away and a Piggly Wiggly grocery about 7 miles away in Jackson.
The house was exactly as exactly as advertised and was perfect for our group. We would all recommend this house to friends and family and hope to visit again next year. Our great thanks to the owners for sharing such a fantastic house! Give it a try, you won't be disappointed.
Last note: I included recommending the house for 55+ because it is if they are ambulatory. The walk down to the water is pretty steep so if you're not so mobile and want to spend time at the water you should take this into consideration. I also included 'people with disabilites' (kind of broad) because, depending on the type and extent of the disablity, this house may be fine. There is ramp access to the main level on the side of the house but I don't know the slope and there is only one bedroom on the main level. If you have disabilities or aren't so mobile and are considering this house, ask the owners about accessibility related to your situation. It would be a shame to miss out on this great house if you don't have too.
