Great, reasonably priced apartment
We booked this apartment through Lingsch Realty for a week in early September. Prior to booking, I have to say, I found the agent a little difficult to get hold of – I tried to call a few times (leaving messages) but my calls were not returned – emails appeared to be more effective.
When we arrived, the doorman had the apartment keys – everything was really easy. The apartment was great, although I have to say I was a little put off by the fact that there were clothes, toiletries and food belonging to the owner in the apartment, it made me feel a little uncomfortable-like the owner had just popped out to get groceries! Like a previous reviewer, I found there weren’t enough towels, also, although the listing states that a starter pack of soaps/toilet roll is included, we saw no evidence of that, plus there were only a few sheets of toilet roll! It’s not a problem at all to not have these things, but I think if they are listed then they should be there.
The apartment itself is really big and has everything you need for your stay in San Francisco, plus, there are laundry facilities in the basement which is great (although no drying rack -this would be a useful addition!). It also has a big balcony with great views of the city.
In terms of location, it is slightly out of the way (but what do you expect for the price?!) but to be honest it’s nice and quiet, and it’s really easy to walk to all the local sights from. There were a couple of streets that we wouldn’t recommend walking down (towards the Civic Center) but the majority were fine. We didn’t find a lot in the way of bars/restaurants nearby, but there are plenty of stores where you can buy groceries and beer, and there are quite a few bars and restaurants on Sutter Street, which isn’t that far away.
Overall, I think it was a great little find; really big and very comfortable, and we would definitely stay here again.
