Cottage, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2 Baths, (Sleeps 4-6)

This is a sweet 1940's cottage that has been lovingly updated while leaving its charm, including the original heart pine floors. The location is ideal for a family vacation in Ocean Springs. The beach and harbor are within walking distance. There is a beautiful pathway on the beach passing the Ft. Maurepas Park and fishing pier. In season the shrimp boats sell their catch to the public, and charter boats are available. There is another Children's' Park 3 blocks from the cottage, and a soccer field and walking track only a block away. The cottage is equipped with everything you'll need for a pleasant stay of a weekend, week or longer. Check with us about extended stays.

Downtown Ocean Springs is a pleasant walk of 3 blocks and is full of restaurants, pubs, shops and art galleries. But, first and foremost, Ocean Springs is an old fashioned town with a great little grocery store (Broome's), banks, churches, and even a drugstore complete with a soda fountain. The Walter Anderson Museum and Shearwater Pottery are nationally known and acclaimed. This beautiful little town, with its tree shaded streets has been featured many times in travel magazines, and others such as Southern Living. Be sure to check the Ocean Springs Chamber of Commerce for its full schedule of festivals and other events.

In the event that you want more adult activities, the casinos in Biloxi are a short drive over the new Biloxi Bay bridge - also a popular walking route. Golf courses are available in Ocean Springs, as well as its neighboring cities.

About The Owner

Jack & Beth Riley have lived on the MS Gulf Coast for 35 years. They own Riley & Riley Photography studio in downtown Ocean Springs.

The Owner purchased this cottage in 2005
Why The Owner chose Ocean Springs

We purchased this cottage as a rental in June of 2005. Then Hurricane Katrina hit in August and destroyed our house on the harbor. We were fortunate to have the 'Russell cottage' to move into and have enjoyed it for over 4 years. We loved being able to walk downtown for work, play and business.

Lovely and comfortable

Beth was wonderful and very flexible with my arrival time. She met me at the property and was very gracious. While it rained each evening while I was there, the mornings were lovely. Tato Nut and the Phoenicia were wonderful. There were plenty of brochures available at the cottage and it had everything I needed. My dog enjoyed the backyard and had a great time checking out all the plants and local pets. I hope to return to this cottage one day.

Charming Cottage

My mother, daughter, and I enjoyed our stay in this cozy and comfortable cottage. It is on a quiet street near restaurants and shops, so the location is quite convenient. The interior was spotless and was supplied with everything we needed. We hope to return.

We came to Ocean Springs, MS for a short weekend with two of our children - actually one had his 20th birthday that weekend. The owner met us there to let us in and show us around. She was very nice! The cottage is decorated very nicely. The backyard is also very nice with a patio under a pergola with several nice chairs to relax in. The landscape is very lush and beautiful. We had a wonderful time, and would love to stay there again !

Fantastic

This cottage is wonderful. The minute you enter you feel at home. It is so comfortable, clean and interesting. The garden is so nice and is great to sit and read or whatever you want to do. The neighbors are friendly and the neighborhood is wonderful for walking. I can't imagine anyone not liking this place. Some of our relatives visited us while we were staying here and they enjoyed it as much as we have. We have stayed here before and love it.

Perfect Cottage!!

Great cottage....exceeded expectations! Close to everything, including our beloved "Tato-Nut"! We were held up in Atlant due to weather so we didn't make it on the 8th as planned, and we half expected the cottage to be less than perfect. But....we were quite impressed and spent a delightful time with our daughter and 6 grandchildren!
The cottage had everything we needed and was clean and bright and cheery! The yard was perfect for sitting outside (when it wasn't raining!) we never made it to the beach but it is close by! Can't wait to go back! Same time next year!? Thanks for sharing your lovely home!
