This house is within driving distance to the tri-state area and in a beautiful community of proud homeowners. We are proud to have transformed this house into a one of a kind lake retreat where we can connect with family, friends, and nature in a lakefront setting that offers everything!
Unique benefits = beautiful location, views, plenty to do, fishing, lake is not too big and not too small - just right.
Eight friends and I had a wonderful relaxing yet exciting weekend at this beautiful home. A fabulous view of the lake greeted us on a sunny day. The home has a very well equipped kitchen which we used for all but one night when we went to a delicious restaurant in Hawley about 20 minutes away. Table and dinnerware was sufficient for all of us to eat at one time and the living/family area met our need to all be together. Hawley's unique shops and restaurants were open on Saturday and operated by warm, kind folk. We found chocolate centerpieces for thanksgiving, antiques to add to collections and even shoes at the second hand shop. Owners were very easy to work with! Definitely recommend this home as a summer vacation spot for a multi-generational family. There are 3 bedrooms on the main floor for the less nimble elders.
Nine of us spent a week at "The Dugout." The bedroom set up was perfect for 2 families. The home had everything we needed - even a pancake griddle. Aside from a trip to the local store for more coffee and ice cream, we didn't leave. There was plenty of space for all of us to be together, but also room for each of us to find a quiet spot to be alone. We started each morning with coffee on the deck and ended each evening around the fire pit. The water trampoline is a must - it kept 5 kids (ages 9-12) happy and entertained for hours on end. It was a lovely way to end the summer.
My second time back to this property and it continues to be one of my favorites. Clean, orderly and very friendly, accommodating owners. Great lake front home and a perfect multi family location.
What a perfect house for a great family vacation. We spent 7 days with my extended family 12 in total (8 adults, 4 children). There was plenty of room to spread out our 4 families. The house was clean and had more supplies than we expected. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we need to cook the food we brought. We didn't even eat out once because we were enjoying the lake so much.
The lake was so relaxing and quiet. The kids ages 9-13 spent the days fishing, swimming, and hours on the trampoline. The kids caught a 20" large mouth bass and couldn't have been more excited. We have never been to a lake where the kids could catch fish so easily.
We rent different lake houses every year for our family vacation. This year my family said "good job finding this house, it was the best one yet."
We spent one fun day at Costa's Family Fun Park which was about 20 minutes away. The entire family went and had a blast.
Oh and I don't want to forget the hot tub. Great way to end the day.
We recently rented this property for a week in July. My very first impression was that it was just as advertised! The pictures on the website were absolutely accurate and it was just beautiful when we raised the blinds in the living and dinning rooms to view the lake. It didn't hurt that the weather was great. The kitchen is very well outiftted, which I appreciated. It is advertised as being able to sleep 12 and it certinaly can, and seat and feed them too!! It was indeed immaculate. The outdoor grill was the exact same one we have, so my husband was a happy camper. The lake was beautiful, calm and quiet, with plenty of chairs for viewing. Our "kids" in their late 20s loved the swimming and fishing. We went to Hawley a few times and my favorite was the Farmer's Market on Friday (go when it first opens). There is also a great "off the beaten path" restaurant, Cora's Bistro. We can't wait to return next year.
Our family had a wonderful time in this beautiful home. Great fishing and the kids loved the trampoline on the lake. The grocery store is not too far away and there are plenty of activities close by.
My extended family recently returned from a week's stay at this beautiful home. The house had excellent water front access and the kids, aged between 4 and 13 years old had a great time boating, fishing and swimming throughout the week. The aqua jump was a huge success with the kids as well. The house came equipped with multiple kayaks and row boats which were perfect on the calm, secluded lake. The pier was excellent for fishing and the kids caught countless bass, bluegills and perch. The interior of the house was more than spacious enough with large open spaces for the kids to play. The lake house is about twenty minutes away from the town of Hawley which includes restaurants, Costa's Family Fun Park and Claws 'N Paws Animal Park. Each of the nearby attractions were fun, but the best times were hanging around at the lake house and enjoying the outdoors. We would recommend this house for any family looking for a relaxing getaway and a peaceful time together.
