Photos and Description of the Tahoma vacation house rental
3 bedrooms, 2 full baths, sleeps 8

Visit our lovely vacation home in beautiful Lake Tahoe! Our modern house has full amenities, with wifi, new beds, dining for 8, a gas grill, and a fenced-in yard. We think our house has everything one would want from a true Lake Tahoe experience! In summer enjoy a shady dinner in the backyard under our stately old-growth redwood tree, or in winter cozy up to our toasty (and environmentally-friendly) gas stove. The front porch is perfect for catching rays or hanging out with family or friends. In summer, we enjoy nothing more than sitting at the wall at the end of our stone garden path and enjoying an iced tea (or perhaps a pitcher of margaritas!). There's tons of activities within a short walk from the front door. Serious hiking or leisurely walks can be found with Sugar Pine Point State Park slightly less than 100 yards from the front door or Desolation Wilderness 500 yards down our cross street. In winter, those same places offer the perfect spots for x-country skiing or snowshoeing.

About Laine

Our names are Dave and Laine. We're good friends who decided to buy this house in March 2008 because we love the mountains and the lake and the whole area. (How could you not?) Our house is called Bucket Manor, named after Dave's dog Bucket. He was abandoned in a large painter’s bucket with two of his siblings. He was the runt of the litter, with a heart problem. But Dave couldn’t resist the one stand-up ear and one floppy ear, and he was sold. So he rescued Bucket and has given him a loving home in San Francisco. (And Laine has dog-sat for him sometimes too.)

Bucket loves the outdoors. Fetch is his favorite game, and if you throw a tennis ball or even a pine cone, he will be your best friend for life. So it seemed natural to name the house after him - Bucket Manor. He won’t be there when you go up to the house, but the spirit of him is always around.

We hope you enjoy your stay.

-Dave and Laine

Tahoma is a great little town on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe, just south of Homewood Mountain, and just north of Emerald Bay. Our cabin is located on a cul-de-sac, less than a mile walk to the lake with access to an HOA beach, and just a few houses away from Sugar Pine Point State Park. The Lake Tahoe region is home to a ton of activities year-round, including swimming, kayaking/canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, boating, fishing, rafting, river tubing, golf, tennis, hiking, birding, camping, skiing, snowboarding, x-country skiing, backcountry skiing, sledding, snow tubing, and there are probably a few more that we're forgetting about.

A short bike ride or a walk (less than a mile!) gives you access to the charming tiny village of Tahoma with the Tahoma PDQ market (try their tasty deli sandwiches!) and the lake shore with our community beach. And if you're up for a longer ride or walk, there's a paved path that leads to Tahoe City 9 miles away.

Come see it all for yourself!

Other Activities: stand-up paddleboarding, boating, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, river tubing, snow tubing

Nice stay!

We had a great time visiting Bucket Manor. It felt cozy but had ample room for our family of four. It was also felt appropriately secluded but was close to all the west shore sites.

Enjoyed swimming at Meeks Bay and visiting Sugar Pine.

Hope to come back soon!

Bucket Manor

Our two week stay on Lake Tahoe's west shore at Bucket Manor was wonderful. We loved the house location in this quiet neighborhood. This home was comfortable and roomy for our six adults with a very nice large well stocked kitchen.

WiFi was really a plus!

Be sure to visit the Sugar Pine Beach for a picnic, kayaking and more for a beautiful quiet location you can walk to.

Best restaurants nearby: Sunnyside Grill and Jakes on the Lake.

Laine was wonderful and made all the arrangements so easy!

Two weeks was not long enough for us we hated to leave.

Fabulous

We had a very relaxing and fabulous stay at the Bucket Manor. Clean, quiet, comfortable, and everything worked! Having a gas BBQ was great, and had quiet morning coffee time on the decks in the front and back. Being close to Sugar Pine State Park allowed us to walk up General Creek, and on down to the lake. We had some pleasant bike rides around the area also. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I'd definitely like to return and stay again.

Laine was super helpful

We stayed at this property for the weekend and this would be our first trip to the snow with the kids. Laine had been very helpful and easy to reach from beginning to end. She even helped us find the property when our Mapquest directions had failed! The house was very clean and just big and comfortable enough for the 4 of us. There wasn't much snow yet in the backyard when we got there but it was lucky that many snow parks are nearby. Squaw Valley is about 20 mins driving.
All-in-all, it was a great first time experience for us. My daughter couldn't wait to go again next winter. Thanks!

we had a lovely stay and a great time at your Tahoe cabin. We enjoyed every minute of it, the cabin had everything we needed to have a "home"cooked meal. Great location, very close to Homewood resort, restaurants and supermarket near by--- just like the description. We felt really comfortable and treated the cabin as our home. Internet was down while we were there (maybe due to snow storm?) but it was not an issue.
