The Owner purchased this cottage in 2000
We have enjoyed Frye Island for over 25 years and decided 12 years ago to purchase a second cottage as a rental property on this seasonal paradise.
This charming family cottage has been enjoyed by families for the past ten plus years with more than half of our guests returning from a previous stay. The comfort of the cottage with its large deck and less than 60 second walk to the water's edge is an appeal thats hard to forget. If you are looking for a variety in beach activities, a 2-3 minute walk will bring you to another magnificent beach on the island, Cocktail Beach complete with a lighthouse view!
We have stayed in many VRBO properties over the past few years and this one is our favorite. It is the perfect size for our family of five...two bedrooms downstairs keep our young son close to us, yet the huge loft upstairs lets our teenagers have some privacy. Everything was neat and clean upon our arrival and Marie was happy to answer any questions. The house is ideally situated--close to beaches, the community center, tennis courts, and playground. The kitchen is well-equipped, the property well-maintained, and the large deck was great for playing board games and dining. For the first time ever, we got absolutely perfect weather during a family vacation--I've lived in Maine my entire life and have never seen a week so beautiful and sunny. We hate to go home!
This was our second vacation on Frye Island - what a great place to visit.
We are so happy that we chose to stay in this house, we really enjoyed every bit of our stay. The house is directly across the street from beach 7, which we found to be the best afternoon beach on the island. Also within a 10 minute walk (or a 5 minute bikeride) are the restaurant, tennis courts, community center and beach 6, which is one of the most popular on the island.
My wife made the comment that this is the first rental house she's ever been to which she didn't feel like she needed to clean before we could stay there - the place was practically pristine when we arrived.
The owners of the property were wonderful during our stay. We were made to feel like guests, rather than tenants. We only hope that we can make our schedules work to be able to return here next year.
