MCKENZIE RIVER: REST, RELAX, REJUVENATE

McKenzie Bridge House Rental Photos and Description

House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6 adults + kid bunks)

This cedar cabin has been the family home, retreat, and gathering place for four generations over the last fifty years. It is a quick hour drive or LTD bus-ride away from Eugene and so provides easy access to town as well as all of the trail and river adventures. Spring and summers have been filled with fishing and games of horseshoes by the river, greeting family rafters as they finish up a fun two hour float from Paradise campground, bike rides on back roads or the McKenzie River Trail, hikes up Castle Rock through old growth and Rhododendron forests, scrumptious meals at the picnic table on warm evenings, and endless hours of peaceful relaxation by the river. Fall and winter seasons add the brilliant colors of vine maples and the coziness of curling up in front of the fireplace.

The house has three bedrooms with large windows:

*** River Room with Queen bed;

*** Bunk Room with a Queen and set of bunks for kids;

*** Rhododendron room with Double Bed.

The fully equipped kitchen was remodeled in 2009. The sky lighted entry doubles as warming room with wood stove and has a washer/dryer. The Great Room includes a large stone fireplace, dining table, couches and big reading chairs, a wall full of books, vaulted cedar ceilings, and a wall of windows overlooking the river. Hardwood floors warmed by area rugs fill the living areas.

We have enjoyed decades of relaxing gatherings with family and friends and hope that others will find the same sense of renewal upon spending a week or more at The Core Cabin.

Everything we hoped for and more!

  • 5 of 5
We stayed at this cabin for a week with another family. With the three bedrooms and two bathrooms, we had plenty of space. As soon as we drove up to the cabin, we knew it would be amazing. It is tucked into the woods next to the beautiful McKenzie River. We loved leaving the windows open at night to hear the water rushing across the rocks. It was also so peaceful sitting on the deck in the morning with our coffee and we ended up having numerous meals outside. As a little bonus, it was fun watching rafters come down the river, hollering and laughing as they went by. The living area was nicely furnished and cozy with a large fireplace. It also has large tables both inside and out for enjoying family meals. We enjoyed cooking in the bright kitchen which overlooks the deck. It is very well-equipped.

The cabin's location is great if you like to get out and enjoy nature. We went on numerous hikes in the area, boated in Clear Lake, and explored some nearby campgrounds. Sisters, OR is nearby if you like cute shops and restaurants. We even took a day trip to Smith Rock for some of the best climbing around and then over to Bend to sample the local brews.

We would definitely recommend this cabin to our friends and family, and hope to come back again. Thank you to the Core Family!!!

THIS IS A VERY WELL KEPT PROPERTY

  • 5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our week long stay in this beautiful cabin. It was stocked with virtually anything you might need, including great walking sticks to take on all the beautiful hikes in the area. Waking up to that INCREDIBLE view from the main living/dining area every morning was something I miss already. The deck out back is wonderful and relaxing with very comfortable lounge chairs and a delightful log swing.

For anyone who can appreciate the beauty of a red cedar cabin, with its vaulted ceilings and excellent quality craftsmanship, you will not be disappointed in this place. The wood on the outside of the cabin is Douglas Fir and is a darker color which isn't as attractive as the red cedar, but the minute you step inside this place, you won't want to leave. The fireplace felt so cozy and there was no end to the wood and kindling that was provided free of additional charge. We really appreciated that. If you can tear yourself away from the cabin long enough to enjoy some short drives, we recommend Belknap Hot Springs [secret garden] and of course, Clear Lake [and be sure to go home with one of their delicious berry pies]. Koosah and Sahalie Falls are both incredibly beautiful as well. We found some wonderful selections of reading material at the cabin and we loved playing games and working the puzzle we brought.

We had a chance to meet the owner of the cabin when they dropped by one afternoon and it was a great opportunity to learn even more about the cabin and the area. My sister and I and our niece had a wonderful time here and we highly recommend it. Younger travelers might miss WiFi and TV, but we are certain they would enjoy the hiking and the river rafting much more. Our niece as able to use her smartphone for recreation and email, etc. because it worked off 4G capability.

Wonderful Experience!

This "cabin" is a beautiful, large home with everything provided. The setting is gorgeous. Good beds and reading chairs, even the patio furniture was comfortable. Easy access to many trailheads, one lovely trail just across the road. Unbelievable wildflowers.
Thanks to the Core family for all the extra touches.
We'll definitely be back.

Wonderful stay on the Core cabin!

  • 5 of 5
Our family just spent a week in the Core cabin on the bank of the McKenzie river. What a wonderful stay it was. The home exceeded our expectations by far and the forest setting on the river was a peaceful and tranquil place to relax, fish, and dine on the deck overlooking the river. The comfortable cabin was very well equipped with a fully equipped kitchen, like new appliances, WiFi, and everything you need, just bring the groceries. Our family agreed that our stay in the cabin was a most pleasant and memorable time that we will truly never forget. No it did not have TV and thank goodness for that. The quality time we had together and with the many things to do and see in the area we never gave TV a thought.
