Chimney Rock House Rental Photos and Description
House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
When we began looking for a quiet getaway in the mountains of Western North Carolina, we came upon the sweet community of The Hidden McMillan Valley. We felt like we had stepped back in time with kind people and quiet, relaxed living. You will start with a scenic drive through the apple country of Edneyville and Hendersonville, drive up the mountain with views, then wind down to The Hidden McMillan Valley. 'Solitude' is nestled between two streams and has a country chapel across the way. In the summer months, it offers Sunday morning services and sometimes potluck lunches.
The screened-in porch runs the length of the house and is complete with wicker chairs, rockers, a love seat and hammock. It also has a wrought iron table and chairs for outdoor dining. As you sit out, you will hear the birds, nature, and the rushing of the water. If it is cool, or just for ambiance, you can build yourself a nice fire in the large brick fireplace. The wood is already chopped and stacked on the porch for you.
One of the perks of where we are located is that you can get to so many places in such a short time. We are a little over an hour from Spartanburg, SC. and about 2 hours from Charlotte. We are 20 minutes from downtown Hendersonville with its unique shops and restaurants. We are only 20 minutes from Lake Lure and Chimney Rock. We are also 35-40 minutes from Asheville with all its historical and cultural influence. Close by is the Blue Ridge Parkway, waterfalls and hiking, the Flat Rock Playhouse, Brevard Music Center, Pisgah National Forest, Carl Sandburg's home, The Biltmore House, and the Grove Park Inn to name a few. So, you can find plenty to do or just enjoy the solitude!

Terri G Allsbrook
Bob and Terri Allsbrook, owners since 2008. We both grew up in N.C, went to college in the mountains of N.C, but have been living in S.C. for 22 years. We wanted a place to retreat to back in the beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains...'Solitude' was our answer to that dream.
This photo is taken at 'The Edge of the World', which is one of the prettiest panoramic views of the mountains you will ever see! It is only a few minutes drive and then a short hike to get there from Solitude.
