CHARMING, 1940'S PRIVATE HOME LOCATED ON WATERFRONT WITH GORGEOUS VIEWS OF LAKE.

We loved this gorgeous little cottage and had a fabulous time there this weekend. The descriptions given are very accurate and Bob and Maureen are easy to work with and accommodating. The cottage was very clean and the beds are really comfortable, which is sometimes hard to find in a rental. We loved being able to take our dogs with us, and they enjoyed the fenced yard. The fence to the north side of the home is really a low wall and our younger dog was capable of jumping it. I wouldn't leave pets unattended outdoors at any point, but the yard is most definitely contained enough to let your pets out after dark without much worry that they are going to wander off. The boathouse roof is just a fantastic place to hang out and relax and we truly spent most of our at home time out there. The Sportsman Inn had really good food and the people in the area were very friendly. If you are taking a boat, you need to be mindful of Bob's good advice and plan to take your boat out of the water at night or if you are tying up for really any length of time. The docks at this cottage cannot accommodate your boat overnight. A storm blew up while we were there and I can imagine your boat would be very damaged if it were tied up to the dock there.(Bob mentioned they don't own a boat so I'm trying to include boating details) Dodge Camp is close and convenient and it costs $10 to launch there. The kitchen is well equipped and you could cook just about anything. If you are finicky about measurements take your own measuring cups and spoons. If they are there I did not find them. Outdoor shower was a big hit with all. If you take your boat north past the sandbar watch for stumps and follow the people who seem to know where they are going so you can stay in the deep channel. The lack of TV led to the playing of games, even charades, and actual conversation with our middle school age sons. Amazing!!
