Canadian Lakes House Rental Photos and Description
House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6)
Our cottage in Canadian Lakes sits on a beautiful private lot with direct lake frontage on Lake Laura. This quiet meandering no-wake lake is perfect for your paddleboat, kayak, small trolling boat, canoe, or rowboat. Dockside views frequently include Bass, Sunfish, Perch, Geese, Loons, Ducks, Blue Herons, Turtles, Turkeys and Deer. Many birds migrate through the Canadian Lakes area and can be seen in abundance seasonally.
Whether enjoying a good book, a cozy fire or the views of nature, the warm cottage atmosphere invites relaxation. The main level has an open floor plan, with wall to wall lakefront windows, and includes a fully supplied kitchen with all the conveniences, and a family area with a wood-burning fireplace. Other first floor amenities are a spacious bedroom with queen size bed, a full bath, and a separate laundry area. The loft also provides guests with an amazing lakefront view, a second full bath, and 2 additional bedrooms (one offers a queen bed, the other 2 twin beds). The yard has a manicured lawn sloping gradually into a sandy beachfront. The lake descends gradually and has a soft, sandy bottom, perfect for children. A dock and rowboat are available for your use seasonally. There are also beach toys, lounge furniture and Bocce Ball for your enjoyment. Parking for 3 vehicles is provided.
Located only two and a half hours from most Detroit suburbs you can enjoy a vacation filled with fabulous memories. At the Canadian Lakes Clubhouse you will find The Mayfair Grill, an indoor pool with slide, fitness center, sauna and hot tub. All are accessible with guest passes, which can be picked up at the CLPOC office upon request (available year-round). In warmer weather, three beaches, an outdoor pool, tennis courts and basketball courts are nearby. The main Canadian Lakes are all sports lakes and are a short drive from the cottage. Pontoon boat rentals are sometimes available on the main lakes. Canadian Lakes is a private resort and therefore only residents and their guests can use the lakes.
Canadian Lakes Resort maintains 3 golf courses. The Highlands with its hills and valleys is a favorite among the locals. Take advantage of the golf carts while you enjoy this 9-hole course. The Pines, a 9-hole flat open course, is less challenging, but great as a walking course (carts are available). The Royals offers 18 holes, has a pro shop and the Mayfair Grill. It is perfect for a more challenging course, but still lady friendly. All courses are exceptionally manicured. Golf pros are available most days. Check with the clubhouse for tee times and more information. Additionally, two world-class public golf courses (St. Ives and Tullymore) are within the Canadian Lakes Resort area and often provide discounts to Canadian Lake residents and their guests.
Autumn brings breathtaking colors as the leaves begin their descent. It is a great time for bike riding around the many resort lakes. The fall colors of Canadian Lakes are on the recommended driving tour of Michigan’s Fall Color Preview. A winter wonderland, this area is at the bottom of the Northern Michigan Snowbelt. The wonderful winter weather accommodates winter sports including cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and sledding. Adjacent to the Highlands golf course is a sledding hill for children and adults alike. Following sledding you can take a relaxing moment to enjoy the views of the Castle while sipping a hot chocolate at the Alpine Haus.
For those who like to stay busy, Canadian Lakes offers a great variety of local activities. While vacationing you may be lucky enough to attend one of the CLPOC Theatre Guilds performances or the well attended Art Festival. There is an annual Oktoberfest with traditional entertainment, food, beverage, and dancing. Enjoy participating in fishing tournaments, golf tournaments, and educational programs for children. There is a seasonal Pig Roast, a Fourth of July Boat Parade and an exceptional fireworks display. If this is not enough, the Soaring Eagle Casino is only 30 minutes away.
We love our cottage and know you will too. It is decorated as a home and not as a typical rental. We do not allow pets or smoking on the premises. It is our desire to share our home with others who appreciate a warm and loving atmosphere. We know you will want to return year after year once you have stayed at Canadian Lakes. About The Owner
We are a part of the new generation of Grandparents; youthful, active, outgoing, and loving life. We share common interests with other couples that we have met at Canadian Lakes. Our love of the water, fishing, boating, golfing, bicycling, cross country skiing, nature walks, cards and board games can all be found right here year around. It is a little slice of heaven. We love to have our children, grandkids, and friends come for a visit. It is always a grand time and they can't wait to return.
