It is a wonderful location, with plenty to do. The bay is in the back yard with a private deep water dock and the pool is in the front yard with a private courtyard. There is a view of the bay and/or pool from every room of the house.
There are kayaks and canoes included in the rental. The bay is a popular kayaking spot, with dolphins and manatees. Lemon Bay is the only salt-water manatee preserve in the world. There is plenty of fishing, sailing, etc also. The sun sets over the island across the bay. That island (Manasota Key) has four beaches on the other side of the island, which are on the Gulf of Mexico.
We are at the end of historic Dearborn District, which was the original hub of Englewood on Lemon Bay. There are art galleries, coffee shops, restaurants, antique shops, a library, a Playhouse, several parks and a grocery store, all within walking distance of your stay.
There are dozens of golf courses within as many miles.
Water / Beaches: There are 4 beaches within as many miles. They are located on the Manasota Key which is on the other side of the bay. You can reach them by car, or with the provided Kayaks. They are 'old Florida' beaches that are do not have much commercialism. Buildings can not be build above 4 floors, because of local codes. There are plenty of shells.
Venice Beach is within 20 minutes, just north. Venice Beach is the 'shark tooth' capital of the world. (No sharks, just left over teeth from long ago!)
This area is home to Seista Key which is listed as the #1 Beach in the World by 'Dr. Beach', just to give you an idea of how nice the beaches are here!
Englewood is the last city before you get to Boca Grande Island. Boca Grande is well known for it's 'Old Florida' style as well as the famous celebrities and presidents that vacations there. It is home to a well-known Tarpon fishing tournament. Rent a boat and go island hopping to an unforgettable adventure!

We are 30-45 minutes from Sarasota which has an airport and a strong Art Community, including the Ringling Art Museum, nice restaurants, St. Armond's Circle, (Upscale shopping, etc), Mote Marine, World class rowing course and Outlet Malls.
