This stylish, spacious, comfortable apartment has been completely and lovingly renovated by the owners to respect the original 17th-century character of the building, with its oak floors, exposed stone wall and original beams.
Dramatic high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows lend the open living room/dining room an airy feel. A quiet bedroom has an updated all-white ensuite bathroom with a spacious walk-in shower. The separate kitchen is fully equipped with updated appliances and all amenities for cooking at home and includes a washing machine. There is an office area with wireless internet access, free long distance phone calls to Europe and North America and cable television.
The apartment occupies the entire 2nd floor that can be accessed by elevator. It is furnished with an eclectic mix of quality antiques and furnishings. Located on a small street just off the Boulevard St. Germain in the heart of fashionable St. Germain des Pres, the apartment is steps away from Cafe de Flore.

The owners are a retired French couple who have called the building home since 1960 and keep an apartment in the building that they live in when they are not at their country house in Normandy.
Kristin purchased this apartment in 1960
Pictures do not do this apartment justice! It is a beautiful and well appointed apartment that we had the pleasure of staying in for four wonderful nights! It is much bigger than we expected. The Saint Germain area is great. You could not ask for a better location with popular cafés just around the corner not to mention a multitude of nearby shopping, including several local grocery stores. This was a central location , close to the metro station and cabs, but within walking distance of most everything you would hope to see while in Paris (and we did!) I believe the location was the primary factor in our being able to accomplish so much in our short stay. It is very close to Notre Dame, the Louvre, the Seine, Shakespeare and Company bookstore, the church St Germaine des Pres and several other museums. We could walk to the Eiffel Tower in a reasonable amount of time and a bit longer to walk to the Arc de Triomphe. We really enjoyed the Montemarte area with artist walk and Sacre Coeur. Visiting Jim Morrison's gravesite at Pere Lachaise Cemetery turned out to be quite interesting as there was quite an eclectic group hanging out there. Rue de Buci was a fun street at night. Do take the evening boat cruise down the Seine. You will find all sights very accessible.
I visited with my daughter and son- in- law and we slept like babies every night. The beds were very comfortable. The place is immaculate and the building is remarkably well kept and a very safe location that I would feel more than comfortable in at any time of night. The kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. Kristin was wonderfully patient and helpful. She met with us at arrival and got us situated, and oriented us to the apartment and the neighborhood. She was readily available when we called with questions, and very helpful. The free calls to the states was a big plus for us. The stairs are not bad at all, though there is an elevator as noted by others. Also, for anyone with worries about no air conditioning, which was a concern for me, don't worry. One of our days was particularly hot but it was comfortably cool in the apartment and there are fans and large windows. This was our first VRBO experience and our first time to Paris and it was a winner! Cannot rave about this lovely apartment enough. Would not hesitate to stay here again on a return trip. Thank you to Kristin and the owners for sharing your beautiful space.
Location location location -- just can't be beat for walking to shops, restaurants and many of the main Paris attractions.
There are several positives about this flat which may interest Americans in particular:
1. There are many many outlets for charging all of your electronic devices.
2. For those who may have problems with steps, this flat is ideal. There are exactly seven steps up to the reliable elevator. Press two, exit and descend exactly seven steps to the front door of the unit. Voila.
3. There is a great shower -- plenty of instant hot and cold water with excellent water pressure. Easy to operate as well.
4. New flat-screen tv with several cable channels in both French and English. Again, easy to operate. Wifi also works very well which is good to know for those who get panic attacks without it.
5. The kitchen is well-equipped but most importantly, both refrigerator and freezer spaces are very large by European standards. My goodness, five wine bottles will sit comfortably on one shelf in the door of the refrigerator. How excellent for you! :)
6. Husband and I found the bedroom mattress to be very comfortable for the two of us. Did not try the LR bed for sleeping but it was great for lounging with lots of comfy pillows.
7. The building is kept very clean and there are no weird or unpleasant odors which is amazing for a building this age.
We very much enjoyed our five-week stay in this cheerful apartment and found it exactly as advertised if not better. Kristen, the apartment manager is so pleasant, helpful and knowledgable. She was always available quickly via email and became our excellent and gracious concierge. And yes, we would stay here again.
The apartment was spacious, well furnished, and had a recently updated kitchen and bathroom. It is also very near to a grocery store and the metro line. We really enjoyed staying in the St. Germain area. We were within walking distance to shopping and great cafes. We walked to the Louvre and Notre Dame, which were both about a 10 minute walk each. I would definitely recommend this charming flat!
This apartment was ideal for my quick trip to Paris.Very easily accessible to all attractions - I walked everywhere! The location is superb and the apartment beautifully restored, clean and comfortable (the bed and day bed were very comfortable). I would highly recommend this apartment to a couple or a family with children. I had dinner at the Italian restaurant right across the street and it was delicious if you don't feel like looking for a restaurant after a long day of site seeing. I walked to the Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Notre Dame, the Pantheon, Luxembourg gardens, the Orangerie, le Marais, Opera, etc, etc., etc. You can always metro but I love to walk in this beautiful city. Kristin and Colette were wonderful to deal with, they will take care of everything and your stay will be wonderful. My 3 days in Paris went according to plan and because of the location I actually saw much more than I anticipated. I would have loved to spend more time in the apartment as well as in this beautiful city. Great shopping within a few steps and cafe's, crepes, etc. so convenient. October in Paris is exceptional! Thank you for the wonderful stay and all of your kind help. I will be back and will bring my husband and daughter next time!
We were delighted with the above apartment. The decoration was charming and there was plenty of room to move in all but the bathroom. It was incredibly quiet for the centre of Paris - little street noise from the one way flow in rue du Dragon and no noise in bedroom as that opened onto a internal well.
The apartment was dark as en face a face in rue due Dragon - had apartment been at the top of the building there would have tbeen much more light. This didn't bother us as we were out each day. The bedroom was especially dark and the bed was very low which we found to be a bit of a struggle. A higher bed would have helped enormously with a place to put suitcases for unpacking and packing and getting into and out of at night and morning times. Excellent large wardrobes with lots of hanging space and shelving; also an open hanging rail for coats, hats, etc. Useful long hall where one could pile up the things one didn't want to forget to take out the next day! The one lavatory was off this hall corridor area. The 2 swing very narrow bathroom doors were nifty but annoying. A small window opening onto internal well in the bathroom was a plus. Internal kitchen - all one could want - large fridge and freezer, washing machine. A charming sitting room and so good to have a desk and also free calls within Europe. Internet connection all worked well. We found it a challenge and a strain carrying suitcases up some stairs to the lift on ground floor and then down some stairs to the apartment level on the 2nd floor - having known there was a lift we didn't realise there would be any stairs involved. We were a little concerned about security as often we would find the inner front door open and once we had a random caller at our door which was a very unnerving. The apartment was very conveniently positioned with Monoprix, rue de Rennes just around a couple of corners and adjacent to top cafes, metros, etc. We would certainly stay in this apartment again and would recommend it to others.
Our family of 4 enjoyed a wonderful stay over Christmas in this perfectly located and furnished apartment. It is centrally located just off St. Germain. It is well stocked and as clean and orgainized as your own home. We cannot wait to return and recommend this great apartment for anyone who wants to unwind in the comfort of home after busy days and nights enjoying Paris.
