PRIVATE WATER FRONT ESTATE WITH LOTS OF TOYS, 60 FOOT DOCK

My wife, two sons and I stayed at this magnificent property last summer for 10 days with my brother, his wife and daughter. My parents joined us for this vacation and much to our delight were able to moor their 41-foot sailboat at the dock below at the base of the property. As a child I grew up sailing up and down the west coast, but now that we have families of our own we searched for a place that could accommodate us all so we could spend our days sailing, hiking, golfing or biking. The attention to detail in the place is incredible and one of my first thoughts upon arriving was why would someone rent out such an incredible home. I would live in fear of bad renters and the damage they could cause. Needless to say, we will be returning and I would highly recommend this place to anyone that is in search of the perfect vacation spot on the sunshine coast. I have wonderful memories of the open concept living room/dining room/gourmet kitchen where we shared some fantastic meals, good wine and great company. The house was immaculate and well maintained/appointed. They have a caretaker on the property that looks after the place. The couple who lived there were extremely helpful and they respected our privacy. In fact, I only saw them a few times over the course of our stay usually because we had asked them for something. Overall the house is very private with spectacular views of the bay. The layout was perfect as they have two separate sleeping areas, with a giant entertainment portion in the center (kitchen/dining room/living room), which was perfect for our two families and infant children. Doug and Debbie went out of there way make us feel welcome and to let us know about the home before we arrived and what to expect including suggestions about places to eat and explore in the immediate vicinity. They even allowed us to use their mountain bikes, kayaks and Boston Whaler. They exceeded our expectations and Doug was only a phone call away if we needed to ask a question. This was my first experience using VRBO and it was fantastic. Being a newbie there are always concerns, especially with all of the horror stories you hear these days. The home was better than expected - very private, gorgeous views, comfortable beds, all the amenities we needed. Doug was very helpful both with the property and the VRBO procedure, for which I am very thankful as this was my first experience. Doug and Debbie provided lots of information on the home as well as the surrounding area for those not familiar with the location. We found very helpful as this was our first time visiting the area. Doug was a phone call away if we needed anything at all. He even had the cable connected for us as we were interested in catching some of the Olympic Summer games, which was above and beyond what we expected. The dock was a spectacular place to hang out, it was nice and cool, and very peaceful. We saw many deer in the expansive yard which was a nice surprise. There are also some great hikes with beautiful view points and some pretty lakes in the area to visit. There is also a guest house on the property where a couple lives. They were friendly, helpful and very respectful of our privacy. To finish everything off, the damage deposit was returned promptly after inspection of the property. It was the perfect place to get away for a week with just the right combination of excitement and relaxation.

My husband and I spent a little over a week at this property last summer. When looking for places to vacation, we always want a balance of activities and relaxation. We could not have chosen a better place. The property was immaculate yet cozy and we instantly felt at home. The listing description was very accurate in describing the location and activities, and we enjoyed the recommended hikes and nearby restaurants. There is really nothing negative to say: we love this place and we love Garden Bay! We will definitely be coming back!
