Your home is a great place for multiple families to gather. With 3 levels, everyone can be together or apart as desired or necessary. The deck and attached covered area with beautiful scenery was wonderful for visiting and catching up with each other morning-noon and night. Would recommend directions as to how to get there from places other than off of Interstate 40.
The property was fantastic! It met all of our needs for a family reunion for 14 people. The outdoor covered deck was a favorite spot for morning coffee and after dinner conversation. The firepit turned out to be a huge hit, toasting marshmallows, making s'mores, and laughing around the fire late into the evening. The only thing we would could have used was a second refrigerator!
We had 15 people in our family group. Each group that arrived was in shock at the spacious beauty of this wonderful home. We spent a week there and it was the best family reunion EVER!! We fished (Caught and released a ton of fish), hiked (Crabtree Falls, Linville Falls and Grandfather Mountain) and visited Emerald Village and the Goldmine. There is a lot to do in the area and when everyone is in the house it was very accommodating. One can get away for some quiet time without even leaving the house. We all agreed the pictures didn't do the house or the area justice. It was wonderful. The owners are very kind and extremely helpful. Don't depend on your GPS. I would highly recommend this wonderful property to anyone looking for a mountain getaway.
Our extended family all enjoyed your beautifully furnished house immensely and all are clamoring to go back soon. There was snow and our 20-month old nephew just loved rolling in it and others were building a snowman and sledding there near the house while others watched from the cozy interior with our coffee. With the two spacious family rooms, there’s lots of room to spread out with some watching a ballgame, others watching a movie and others downstairs playing pool or on their laptops. The large, well equipped kitchen was also a favorite gathering place. Once everyone got there, no one left because there was something for everyone and we so enjoyed just being together and making happy memories. The guys built a fire in the fire pit one night and everyone enjoyed s’mores. It would be a wonderful place all four seasons and we hope to get back there when it’s a little warmer for the hikers and to explore Little Switzerland and the area.
Great house, wonderful amenities. Plenty of room. Spent most of the fall weekend on the back deck. Kitchen well stocked. Owners very friendly. Six couples had plenty of space, lots of tv's to watch college football and space to spend time either talking, playing cards or eating!! Thanks for providing such a great place for a get away. We hope to do this every year.
The master bath shower was confusing but we figured it out!!
The home is lovely and we felt very comfortable. The kitchen center island was great for the group to sit around and make plans for the day or evening, check email or just chat about the day. The home is perfect for relaxation - which we all needed. The back decking is fabulous. We ate out on the deck most afternoons/evenings. It was also the perfect spot for nightly star gazing. We were so fortunate that we got no rain, no fog and the temperature was perfect each day. Two nights it got so cool we had to go inside. Also, we so much appreciated that the roads up the mountain and to the home were paved.
The surrounding area is full of quaint little shops that have great merchandise from artist around the state.
Definitely a home and area that we want to visit again.
