2 bedrooms, 1 full bathroom, kitchen, sleeps 4 adults + 2 children

Our two-bedroom apartment, named Calder's Flat, is a smart hotel alternative for tourists, visiting family, or working professionals looking to stay in Park Slope. The private entry leads into the spacious and newly decorated flat, all on one-level. Two bedrooms sleep four people while folding cots are available for two more (maximum four adults plus two children). Each bedroom can be privately accessed. The well-equipped kitchen is bright and modern with full-size appliances. On-site washer/dryer.

After an active day, relax in the parlor/dining area watching satellite TV, play cards, or write postcards. Families will find a high chair, portable crib, and stroller available at no additional cost. Sorry, no pets, no smoking, no garden access.

Two blocks from shopping, services, and restaurants; area info provided. A pleasant ten-minute walk to the 2,3,F, or Q trains (with easy connections to 4,5,A, or C trains, and LIRR). Lower Manhattan is 20 minutes by subway. 2-night minimum.

Washer/Dryer: A front-loading washing machine and gas-powered dryer is available in the basement for private guest use at no additional cost.

Conveniences of Home: We've thought of what you might need to make your stay more enjoyable such as shopping cart, umbrellas, picnic blanket and cooler, board games and cards. Pack light!

Not a Walk-Up: After three steps down with handrail and one step up at entrance, all rooms are at the same level.

Privately-owned Home: NYC's new law banning short-term rentals in buildings with three units or more does not affect Calder's Flat. Guests stay in the independent garden-level unit while my family and I live upstairs.

Wonderful week in Brooklyn, New York

We (group of 4 adults) visited Calder’s Flat for a week in end of September – beginning of October. The apartment was very clean and everything was just as mentioned in the advertisement. The apartment was very spacious and we were very comfortable in it. Jackie was very helpful in every respect.

Park slope is beautiful and quiet neighborhood. During the night no noise problems and we could sleep without problems and wake up well rested. 5th and 7th ave have restaurants and coffee shops for every taste. By staying in Park slope, Brooklyn we could see two different sides of New York. The skyscrapers of Manhattan and the real life of people in Brooklyn.

From the apartment there is easy connections to Manhattan by Metro lines 2 & 3 from Grand army plaza and line F from 7th ave. New York metro is easy to navigate.

All in all what a wonderful place and week. Hope we can come back to New York and Calder’s Flat.

A perfect base to visit NYC

We stayed here for a week's visit to NYC, and it was the perfect base. Just a few minutes walk to the subway meant we could be in the heart of Manhattan in about half an hour, yet the area was safe and quiet, with a great selection of interesting shops, bars and restaurants. Jackie went out of her way to be helpful before we arrived and while we were there. One tip for anyone staying here: don't miss a walk round Prospect Park, and on a Sunday afternoon experience the drummers' circle in the park, it's amazing.

Great Weekend

My three high school friends and I enjoyed a lovely weekend at Calder's Flat. The owner was very accommodating with the dates of our stay and extremely helpful with tips for places to go and eat and things to do over the weekend.

The apartment itself was very clean, charming and well stocked. There was even a basket of snacks waiting for us. We especially loved reading about the history of the brownstone and the area through framed newspaper articles in the living room.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Calder's Flat.

Barefoot Clean and Close to Park

Calder Flats is a charming place to stay but more importantly, it was clean and comfortable to sleep in during the very warm week that we were there. Jackie provided us with the use of her family's bikes, and my husband and I enjoyed morning bike rides around Prospect Park which is just a half block away. Walking the six blocks to the subway was scenic and felt pretty safe even late at night. We shared the place with another couple who equally enjoyed our one-week stay. We all would stay at Calder Flats again.

Fabulous location, very well equipped, spotlessly clean, nothing was to much trouble for Jackie to ensure our personal comfort during our stay.
