Awe-inspiring…Dramatic...Magnificent! Lonely Planet named it one of the best road trips in the world. How would you describe it? One of the most famous drives in Canada, the Cabot Trail is a spectacular highway carved into the cliffs of the Cape Breton Highlands, with views that defy description and gravity. But that’s only part of your journey in the place we call Cape Breton Island, the place Travel + Leisure magazine named the number one island destination in all of North America. But we knew that already.
Enjoy the peace and privacy of your own home away from home, for the cost of a hotel room. Have a culinary flair? Create some wonderful meals from local fresh seafood and produce. Fancy a steak? Eat in or eat out at any one of the many fine and casual dining restaurants the village of Baddeck has to offer. Stroll the lovely shops and boutiques on Chebucto Street. Explore super natural Kidston Island with it's famous lighthouse and beaches. Walk to the grocery store, Liquor, beer & wine store and to any one of the local churches.
For lovers of the great outdoors, enjoy a day on the links at one of the areas spectacular golf courses or go fly fishing on one of the regions scenic rivers. Fishing licences may be purchased locally in Baddeck.
