Aloha! We call our rental 'COCONUT PALMS' - it is a private 3 bedroom 1.5 bath fully furnished house with an ocean view and it's less than 10 minutes from the active lava flow.
It's a wonderful place to stay if you want to be centered in the Puna District of Hawaii (Kalapana), which is one of the most beautiful places on earth.
This is a sunny spot of the island where there is less rain! Although it rains much less down here, Kalapana remains green and beautiful.
Many people come to Kalapana to visit Volcano National Park - home of Kilauea and the periodic lava flows just a short distance from us.
There are also Hawaiian jungles, tropical rain forests, beautiful coastal views, geothermically heated ponds, snorkeling, whale watching w/ dolphins that migrate to the warm Hawaiian waters from Alaska.
You can often see them from land swimming off our beautiful coastal park and in the Kehena Beach area.
Many of my tenants tell me that they were able to swim w/ the dolphins and you can too.
This is the place for water lovers - we have what you need at no extra charge: snorkeling equipment, boogie boards, noodles for your swimming pleasure. Did you know that the best and safest snorkeling area is just down the road in the Kapoho Tide pools?
You can easily navigate all of these places from Coconut Palms, it has come to be a very popular spot 'right in the center of all of these attractions'.
For those of you who are seeking night time entertainment, check out 'Uncles Outdoor Hawaii Bar' if you want to sip a beer, listen to live Hawaiian music, eat great food and enjoy a farmers market at the same time.

Coconut Palms is located in Kalapana - Sea view Estates on the Hilo side of the Big Island of Hawaii and just a walk to the world famous Kehena Black Sand Beach.
Pohoiki Point and the famous Kapoho snorkeling waters are also near by and remain popular snorkeling, surfing and swimming areas. Compare our rates to those in Kapoho - you will love our place.
Kilauea Volcano is just a 45-60 minute drive where you can walk through Thurstons Lava Tube and look in to Kilauea Caldera.
The unit is situated in a safe, quiet & friendly Hawaiian neighborhood off Kalapana-Kapoho Rd.
This house boasts large rooms and of course is impeccably clean, has 3 large bedrooms (including loft)/ 1.5 bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen, large deck, washer & dryer, FREE Super fast WI-FI internet, house & studios have a land line, Direct TV, DVD player w/ movies (i.e.) Avatar on flat screen TV, CD player, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator/freezer, tile floors, and typical household amenities that give you the feeling that ‘you are at home’.
We have no mosquito problems. VOG is rare in this area as we are not down wind from the volcano.
