Why Mirra Bank Brockman chose East Hampton
This perfectly preserved private home defines the historic Woodhouse Family legacy that created East Hampton as an arts-loving summer destination in the years from 1910-1920. The Playhouse was built by Mary Woodhouse for her daughter, in 1915, and has belonged only to the Woodhouse and Brockman families since then. The Playhouse has been lovingly and artfully maintained to preserve all its unique characteristics of a Tudor Playhouse turned luxury private residence.

Guestbook comments from the owner
Your home is beyond lovely …enchanting. I am delighted with it.
We never imagined that we would find a private home of such architectural and historical interest on a vacation rental website. Our weekend at the Playhouse was an escape from an escape! It was so quiet and the gardens are so lovely and otherworldly that we felt transported from the bustle of the Hamptons when we wanted to be, but were close enough to town to walk.
We had such a cozy weekend … lit the fire and then enjoyed hot wine in front of its flames.
I hope to have the good fortune of renting the house again sometime in the future.
Thank you very much
