What a terrific place to stay while I recovered from a hip replacement done at Maine Med in Portland! We traveled to Maine from New Mexico because of an excellent surgeon. The renovations to this nineteenth century farmhouse are well-conceived and wonderfully executed: good design, great materials and craftsmanship. The kitchen was well-appointed and the beds were as comfortable as any we've slept in. Even nicer than we expected from the photos and description. The flowers, trees, fields, and stone walls of the grounds are also lovely. Very quiet. The owner was also exceptionally nice and helpful. About 3 miles up New Gloucester Road away from Yarmouth is Pinelands, whose store has wonderful produce and delicious grass-fed beef. It's closer than Yarmouth. We've already recommended this to friends who live in Freeport as a place for their visiting relatives to stay. We couldn't have been happier!
