Sierpe - A place of amazing diversity!
My wife and I enjoyed 10 magnificent days of peace, adventure, and excitement in this beautiful and well-appointed home on the estuary just a short kayak paddle to the Sierpe River. Rayna acted as our own private Concierge while in Sierpe. Anything we needed or wanted to do, she always took care of all of the details and found us the best prices. She could single handed make Sierpe a destination retreat for anyone! The elevated dock side patio offered us incredible views of countless numbers of unique species of passing and resting birds! Among those we saw were Scarlet Macaws, Scrub Euphoria’s, Common Potoo, Cherrie's Tanager, Blue-Gray Tanager, Green Heron's, Purple Gallinule, Amazon Kingfisher, Great Egret, a multitude of hummingbirds, to name a few. We counted close to 70 species of birds during our stay. We went on mangrove tours, fishing excursions, sightseeing trips to the mouth of the Sierpe River where it meets the Pacific, night hikes, self-guided kayak tours. The home was a very short walk to restaurants s in town along with some markets for supplies. We lacked for nothing. We drove to Sierpe from San Jose. We actually could have done quite nicely without one. Would consider flying to Palmar Norte and taking a taxi to Sierpe next time we visit!
