Nicely updated two bedroom, two bath single level Sandpiper condominium designed by famed mid-century architect William Krisel. Located adjacent to El Paseo in Palm Desert, the unit has lovely mountain, pool, and palm tree views and is located on a dead-end street away from traffic and noise. Two private patios and the delightful entryway atrium combine with beautiful exterior landscaping for seamless indoor and outdoor living. In 2014, the unit's interior was completely repainted, carpet was replaced, and new window treatments installed.

Sandpiper is an architecturally significant, low-density development in the mid-century style. Our unit, like most of the others, features high ceilings, celestory windows, and a comfortable, open floor plan. Each pool is shared by only 16 units and is surrounded by wide expanses of grass and lush landscaping (including mature grapefruit and lemon trees). Our particular pool area features a shady cabana, gas barbecue, putting green, shuffleboard area, and plenty of patio and pool furniture. The inviting pool is kept at a warm 85 degrees year round.

Directly across from the unit's private driveway are sevaral grocery stores and other retail establishments and restaurants, including Von's, Rite-Aid, and Starbucks. The famed, upscale El Paseo shopping and dining district is just a short walk away. Hiking trails, public tennis courts, Westfield's Palm Desert Mall, and Target are also within walking distance. Other attractions, including numerous golf courses, the Living Desert, the River shopping complex in Rancho Mirage, McCallum Theater, Indian Wells Tennis Garden, and Sunnylands estate are just a short drive away.

The unit is easily accessible, with three unassigned parking spaces direcly in front of the main entrance, and a reserved covered space in the nearby carport. Everything you need for a comfortable, enjoyable stay is available: plenty of linens, full laundry facilities, ample newer cookware and dishware, new gas barbecue, cable television, free long distance phone throughout the U.S. and Canada, and wireless Internet access.

Please note that the City of Palm Desert's short-term rental ordinance applies to stays in this unit of less than 28 days (Permit No. 41150). Accordingly, for rentals to which the ordinance applies, nine percent tax will be added to the rental amount and the cleaning fee.

Awesome rental property.

Been here the last 2 years, and it is awesome, super great landlord, the unit all redone with furnishings blinds paint, carpets etc. We really love it here and the people are very friendly. We would recommend it to anyone.Hope to be back next year and longer if possible?

The new owner has been working on upgrading the unit and the pictures show a nice improvement. We are staying there this year and next.

The location of this condo cannot be beat! Less than a block from El Paseo and all the amenities you require right at your fingertips.

The grounds are beautiful and very well kept, including the pool and bbq area. The unit itself is only steps away from the pool area, with a large green space in front of the patio (perfect for the little ones). The owner is incredibly accommodating and went out of his way to ensure that we were comfortable and happy with the accommodations. He was quick to offer assistance and very, very pleasant to deal with.

I would certainly recommend this property to family and friends wishing to enjoy the sunny desert!

The property is very well maintained, the owner makes sure you are happy with everything.

Great location to walk to shopping, restaurants, etc. Street fair every weekend within walking distance. Hiking, pickleball courts close. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

I was very specific about the locations that I wanted and this one totally fit the bil in the area. The unit is old and has had no upgrades at all. I complained about the bug situation in the condo, but nothing was done to correct that in the month I was there. If he had sprayed at least, I would not have had to walk with my head down carrying a can of house Raid. The pots, pans utensils need to be trown out and new ones put in their place. I spent most of my entire month cleaning in hopes of getting ahead of the bug and crickets (in the house) situation. The Atrium is a disgrace, as is the small garden patch off the patio. The cleaning ladies literally had nothing to do when I left, as I spend many many days, trying to make the place presentable for friends coming over. I was embarassesd

Owner's Response: Unfortunately, this appears to be a retaliatory review after we declined the guest's request for a three month rental in 2015 at a reduced rate. The review was disappointing to say the least given that the guest had her close friend view and approve the unit prior to her stay and because our pictures clearly show the unit's condition, including the atrium that she is complaining about. In any event, the minor issues that the guest raised during her stay (loose door handle, stuck window blind) were promptly addressed by professionals. We were never led to believe that the reported "bug" issue was anything beyond the normal few that you see in the Desert as the weather warms up. In any event, since the guest's stay, the unit has been freshly painted, carpets replaced, and new window treatments installed. Our subsequent guests have had no complaints whatsoever and we are now booking 2015 stays for past guests.

this condo was clean and well looked after. I would recommend this property to my friends and relatives.It is within walking distance to the Mall and Grocery store and lots of nice eating places close. Very nice clean and warm pool. BBQ area.
