Overview

Boston Apartment Rental Photos and Description

3 bdrms, 1 bath, sleeps 8, living rm w/ gas fireplace, ding rm, full kit, porch

Enter the front door and you're in your home away from home. It's spacious but comforting.

Bedrooms are decked out with comfy linens. Back porch looks at the garden. Eat in the kitchen or the dining room. On chilly evenings have a fire with the click of a switch.

Jamaica Plain (JP) is a neighborhood within the city of Boston. The house has easy access to the T (our public transit system) — a 15 minute ride to downtown. JP has the feel of a small town but it's definitely part of Boston's urban life. The house is just one block from Jamaica Pond (a 1.5 miles loop around the pond) which is great for walking or running in all seasons — biking, picnics or renting a sailboat in the warmer months.

Just 2 streets away is a new Whole Foods Market. Walk less than 10 minutes and you're in JP center with an array of ethnic restaurants, cafes, pubs and retail stores. This home is a great space in a great neighborhood in a great city - all set up for a great vacation

Great Place & Location to Stay!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I went with another couple and we really enjoyed staying here. The house is so cozy and has so much character. From the moment I inquired about the house Elaine was so responsive and answered any and all questions that I had. We communicated from months before our trip to the days before. She kept me updated with information that we needed on the property as well as offered any tourist help with our stay in Boston. The house is in such a great location. We walked around Jamaica Plains the night we got into town and there were so many unique bars. The T train is just about a 10 minute walk. We never took the 39 bus but Elaine let us know the 1st day we were there that it was an option. It's a short train ride to downtown. We did Uber it home from downtown a couple of times and it was never an issue. Also, the Sam Adams brewery is within walking distance. That is a great place/tour to check out if you enjoy beer. Overall, this was an amazing place to stay. It was so close to everywhere we wanted to be. Highly recommend and if we ever go back we know where to stay. Thanks Elaine!

Owner's Response: When people come to Boston (and Jamaica Plain) for the first time, I want to help as best I can for them to maximize their visit — especially if they're here for just a few days. When they also enjoy staying at this home, feeling comfortable and familiar, I know that enhances their trip as well. It's good to come home and relax after a full day of Boston-seeing!

Homely spacious stay

  • 5 of 5

A spacious three bed apartment, in a quiet street with reasonable on street parking available. It gave us the feeling of being in a home rather than in a hotel, with outdoor space and our own entrance.

The property was clean and the beds very comfortable. The owner was available (upstairs) for any issues, without being intrusive in any way.

The wi-fi worked very well, even with four devices at once!

A very enjoyable stay for our family of five.

Wonderful Historic Home Experience

  • 5 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying here during a combined work and vacation trip to Boston. Elaine (homeowner) was very helpful and responsive throughout our entire planning, arrival, and departure experiences. The home was well equipped for our family of 6, and we prepared breakfast and dinner meals at the home. We had several grocery choices nearby, and did all of our shopping by foot, using the bags and cart that were in the home. We utilized the "T" stop for transportation, and this was very convenient and economical for us to reach all of our destinations.

Overall, I would highly recommend this property, based on its owner, location, and decor. It was tastefully decorated, but still giving the feeling of an early Boston home. Loved the radiators and fireplace!!

Thanks!

Overall, I would highly recommend this property, as

Nice stay in Boston!

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay at this Jamaica Plain home in Boston. It's really well located near a strip of restaurants and some shops, very close to Jamaica Plain pond and a Whole Foods (expensive but their deli is nice for an out of towner) and just a few quick minutes to the T. The whole house is decorated really well and you feel like your in someone's nice place, not a VRBO. And the house had a pack and play portable crib and high chair which was a huge help with our toddler. The only little complaint is that the kitchen was may be a little lacking on some cookware but it did have a selection of other kitchen pantry necessities. We'd definitely come back!

Owner's Response: I will definitely need to check in with this guest about the cookware. I hope they found the pots and pans and frying pans in the lower cabinet! If more is needed, I'll most certainly add them. All in all, I'm glad they had a good, comfortable visit.

The eight women enjoyed staying in this house. Jamaica plain is a great little city with everything you need and want. Couldn't ask for more from Elaine she was always helpful. Would stay here again.

Car: not necessary

Jamaica Plain is a neighborhood within the city of Boston that provides a small town feel within the urban lifestyle. JP, as locals call it, is just minutes from downtown Boston by public transportation. It's a unique community, almost completely surrounded by parks, including the Emerald Necklace (designed by Frederick Law Olmsted of Central Park fame) the Arnold Arboretum, Franklin Park Zoo and a protected Urban Wild area. The center of JP offers abundant amenities including restaurants — ranging from take out to 4 Star — in an array of ethnic options. A great place for families, couples and singles.

Let's not forget this is New England. Pleasant car rides in almost any direction take you to the picturesque small towns you've seen on postcards. Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and Vermont are each within an hour's drive. In fact, you can drive to Montreal in about 6 hours . . . and New York City in about 4.

Good spot for a great visit.
