SECLUDED LUXURY MT. LOG HOME (ACCESS TO 180 ACRES) SKI, BIKE, SLED, SNOWMOBILE

Granby House Rental Photos and Description

5 Bedrooms + Loft + Den, 7 Baths (Sleeps 12-20); $499-699/night

This spectacular, one-of-a-kind log house was built by us in 2003. The 18' Engleman Spruce logs are from Southern Utah and were designed and built specially for our home -- truly a work of art! Sitting on 17.5 acres, high upon a ridge, the views are nothing less than amazing, including the Continental Divide. With your reservation, we grant access to another of our properties, just a half mile away. This property is 24 acres with the only access to over 140 acres of state land. It is perfect for private snowshoeing, cross country skiing, and hiking. A great way to enjoy the local mountain scenery.

Each room in the house has been carefully designed and decorated featuring high-end furnishings and comfort at every turn. An individual theme has been given to each of the five master suites, including the Luxury Master Suite, the Bear Room, the Moose Room, the Fish Room and the Cowboy Room. If you are a movie or game buff, check out our movie/game room with the projector TV and 11-foot movie screen with surround sound for a movie theater experience.

All four seasons are enjoyed and appreciated in this home. It is a great gathering place, whether for relaxation, fun, beauty, nature or to create memories of a lifetime. Our favorites are tubing down our road in the winter and building a fire to roast s'mores in the summer, along with horseshoes and swinging in the hammock.

We hope to provide an unforgettable vacation for you and fulfill your dreams!

Guestbook comments from the owner
My family had an amazing time at your home. It is simply beautiful, as are the spectacular views. My daughter's wedding was perfect. It was hard to believe that the weather became gloriously calm and sunny for the vows and reception at the ski area. Nothing could have been nicer and I made the right choice in picking your home for our accommodations. Thank you again.

Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5
Wonderful place for our large family reunion. Conveniently located, beautifully situated, comfortable with just enough room for privacy, gathering, and fun. Great kitchen for communal cooking and entertaining. This was both a great base for day trips hiking, rafting, shopping etc. AND a beautiful, relaxing place for just hanging out. Note however, it is not handicap accessible; many stairs.

Wonderful Place

  • 5 of 5
After looking at many homes that have 5 master bedrooms in the Granby area, I booked this one because of the wonderful reviews, awesome photos and gorgeous views. My large family celebrated our parents 70th wedding anniversary and it was a grand place to do so! The house was as expected, grand and gorgeous with awesome views, large enough kitchen for our big party, and nice gathering space in the living room

There was one big disappointment with the bunk bed room... when I booked it there were queen size bottom bunks... when we got there they were twin size! Not a happy situation for my sister and her 6'2" husband who were to have this room, they ended up sleeping on the pullout couch in the entertainment room which they said was uncomfortable, plus with them sleeping there, the younger generation was not able to enjoy that room and watch movies like they wanted. I felt this should have been addressed, that we should have been told of the change of the size, knowing we were 5+ adult couples coming.

Overall, it was a wonderful place, further than 4 miles though to the lake (more like 10) as stated... a little tricky to find, my GPS in my brand new honda mislead us so make sure you print and follow the directions that the owner/manager gives you.

An All Around Fantastic Experience

  • 5 of 5
My family had the good fortune to stay at Rocky Ridge with three other families (13 people total) and everyone was incredibly happy with our experience. The home is beautiful, well kept and well appointed. The owners have done a great job creating a beautiful space, and they have several expectations outlined (ie: no shoes in the house, kids eat in the kids dining nook) to help keep it nice and clean for themselves and future guests. All of the expectations are reasonable and were easy to meet, so as long as you are prepared not to have a free-for-all you'll be great! The views from the deck are amazing, and the house is near any sort of activity you could want (biking/family fun in Winter Park, boating on Lake Grandy, hiking in RMNP). We stayed in the Moose Room and our bed was very comfortable, but some guests had issues with mattresses in other rooms, which was the only concern anyone in our party had. This place is great for groups with kids.

  • 5 of 5
We had a group of five families travel to Granby Ranch for a winter ski trip. Fantastic home with plenty of room for 5 families. Each bedroom is huge. Kitchen and living room function well. Great kids play/toy/movie room downstairs. Drive to Granby Ranch Ski Area is about 15 minutes I think. Fantastic home, fantastic views. Thanks for fantastic memories!!

Great house great location

Perfect house in every way. We really could not have asked for more. The pictures and description were right on the money.

Only six wine glasses, so be advised. Also, one of our guests has pet allergies and he was seriously affected here. I would not stay here if that is an issue

Owner's Response: So glad you loved the home!
RE: pet allergies. Our rental contract states specifically that this is a NO PET home. The lodge owners do not own pets - they have pet allergies in their own family. To our knowledge, no renters have brought pets with them. This has occasionally been a deal breaker for potential pet-owning renters who could not bear to leave pets at home. Perhaps the allergies were reactions to different flora than what this guest was used to.

Our mountain home is located on 17.5 acres and sits on a ridge overlooking the Continental Divide and Byers Peak, as well as a vast valley view of Granby and Sol Vista Ski Area. We located 1.5 hours from Denver and 4 miles east of Granby on County Road 60. Hot Sulphur Springs is located 25 minutes away and is one of the nation's oldest, largest and finest natural hot mineral springs, as well as a swimming pool. Ute Indians once bathed there, healing mind, body and spirit. In the winter enjoy a horse-drawn sled ride in nearby Fraser. Sol Vista provides skiing and tubing -- very family friendly! Snowshoeing and ice fishing in the wintertime. Experience a rodeo over the weekends in Granby. An intriguing fossil bed near Kremmling. Alpine slide at Winter Park. Take Trail Ridge Road over Rocky Mountain National Park for a scenic drive to Estes Park, another fun mountain tourist town.

Other Activities: shopping, boating, kayaking, basketball court, racquetball, mini golf, health/beauty spa, snowboarding, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, horseshoes
