PINECONE COTTAGE- HOSMER POND / CAMDEN SNOWBOWL

My husband and I were delighted with our lovely stay in the cozy cottage. The heated floors, soft towels, well designed kitchen all added up to our comfortable and relaxing stay in the home. After sight seeing, hiking, biking and exploring each day, it was nice to come home to our snug little cottage and "chill" the evening away by watching movies or playing games. The owners were gracious (thanks Ann for the lovely flowers) kind, and were available if needed. It was a wonderful introduction to Maine.

Our family of 4 stayed in this cottage for two nights over New Years' weekend. We were two adults and two children, ages 5 and 7. The cottage was wonderfully equipped with everything in the kitchen, the bathroom, and even a washer/dryer! Everything is very well thought-out. This charming cottage feels like it's brand new and there were fresh flowers when we arrived. There is a fast internet connection, books and a couple of videos for our kids. The sheets and towels are very nice as well. We skied for three days at the Camden Bowl, which is almost within walking distance from the cottage and a great place to learn to ski for our kids. Hosmer pond is right across the street and we didn't get to ice skate on it because it was unseasonably warm.

Downtown Camden is only 6 minutes away by car and we visited lots of shops and restaurants. We also went to the local YMCA using the "Away" program and used their indoor playground and pools. The sofa downstairs is a nice pull-out sofabed, but may not be optimal for adults with bad backs; it was fine for our kids. The bed upstairs was very comfortable. We were glad we arrived during the daytime to the cottage as it would have been a bit difficult to find in the dark.

Overall, this is a really lovely cottage that felt like we were the first ones to use it, as it was so clean and well-equipped, with lovely art throughout. We're hoping to go back there again again this winter to enjoy skiing at the Camden Bowl, as well as ice skating, and to explore more of the local Camden attractions. We highly recommend it!!

The cottage was so clean, we felt like we were the first people to ever stay here. And we were impressed with how equipped the kitchen and bathroom were. It's a really cozy, warm feeling cottage that is small (as advertised) but well-designed. The owners clearly have an appreciation for detail (which we appreciated.). Two adults and a "tween" were comfortable and happy for a winter week. We visited at Christmas time and Ann and Steve left fudge and a small bouquet of flowers for us. Steve came by and kindly shoveled the front stairs after it snowed. As for the area, it's across the street from a large pond which people were ice skating on; I imagine in the summer the pond is even more versatile. The house is walking distance to the camden ski bowl (for skiing, snowboarding, sledding, etc.). Also as advertised, the house is a short distance to the sweet coastal downtown. Not all the restaurants are open in the winter but we were happy with the ones that were. We are thinking of coming back in the summer time.
