E14 is a newly renovated 200 year old Bermuda stone structure. It has been owned by the same family for at least 100 years. In recent times it was a store which sold yarn for knitting. It has also been used as a place for making flower arrangements, and quite possibly in early 1900 and late 1800’s as a barn.
During the excavation of the waste water / sewage pits, the foundations of an 1820’s church were found. This church was known as the Independent Church of St. Georges, and constructed for the congregation of Protestant Dissenters from the established church.. This Church only lasted a few years, it built in 1820, consecrated and opened on April 1 1821 and closed in 1824 due to the death of the presiding minister the Rev. H.H. Cross. Present at the dedication was well known Baptist Minister Rev. Duncan Dunbar and Presbyterian Minister Rev. M. Gray. Some of the walls and a few stairs can been seen at the southern end of the front entry patio.
