This garden level/basement one bedroom apartment with one bathroom on the garden floor of historic Art Deco building is steps from world class restaurants, avant-garde theaters, trendy cafes and the best shopping this city has to offer. The apartment is decorated with passion and attention to detail: simple furniture, color coordinated sheets, rugs, cotton linens, kitchen and bath ware. Please note that this is a budget unit because it is in the basement. It has full size windows and it has been remodeled. It is clean, simple and comfortable. The bed in the bedroom is full size and there is a full size sleeper sofa which folds out.

About The Owner

hi,

originally from Prague, Czech Republic, Washington DC has become my second home twelve years ago when I came to study at Georgetown University.

I live in this wonderful city with my two boys Alexander and Christopher, only few blocks from the rental property. We spend every weekend at a museum (Air and Space is the favorite), hiking through Rock Creek Park or on a fifty year old carousel in front of the Smithsonian Gardens and we hope that all our guests enjoy this vibrant city as much as we do.

Why The Owner chose Dupont Circle

As a single mom I need to provide for my two boys. I love to travel and so do my kids. Most of the time I travel out of DC and the situation helped me see that just as I love to leave the city and to explore other places, there are people who come to visit DC to spend time with their families. My two boys, my family, are the best critics of any place, as no furnishings are safe from their play and no vase is sacred to them. Our places are luxurious but ready to be used. I understand what most travelers need to feel comfortable since I have traveled extensively around the world to Africa, South and Central America, Asia and Europe . Please come and share your vacation time in our home. I promise that we will do our best to make you feel comfortable.

This is the reason I bought my rental property.

What makes this condo unique

From our apartment in the heart of Dupont Circle the access to all the tourist attractions, world famous restaurants, great bars and the biggest selection of privately owned galleries is just steps away. The metro stop is only a block and a half away, next to Starbucks. The 14 Street buses run directly downtown from our bus station at the end of the block; every two minutes during rush hour and every six minutes other times.

The White house, The Mall and The Smithsonian Museums are less than a mile away; about fifteen minute walk or few metro stops.

This apartment is in a great location. There were many wonderful restaurants within a few blocks, hard to choose from! The Metro is a short walk of just a few blocks. We took the Super Shuttle from Dulles here for only $39 for two of us, then made reservations to have them pick us up for the return trip to the airport. Perfect transportation and economical.
The apartment is small, but just right for two people. Whole Foods is a few blocks away, so we were able to enjoy coffee and a simple breakfast each morning while planning our day.
The apartment was clean and had the necessary amenities for the two of us. So much more private than a hotel, quiet and easy access to metro bus or metro train.

My wife daughter and I booked this property for 4 nights in April. When we arrived we found ants all over the apartment. After contacting the owner she agreed to pay for a motel for the night for us and she would check the unit the next day. The next day she would not answer our phone calls or return voicemails for her so we stayed the rest of our stay at the motel. After returning home she refused to refund our advance payments or the cost of the 1 night at the motel. Do not stay at this location!!

thank you for your feedback. I am sorry about the few ants on the window cell. I asked them not to come in, but they did not listen!
The weather had changed that week and the ants got there, I believe, from the flower box outside the window. Either way, if few tiny ants scared you this much, there was a simple solution for you to move to a different unit for the night which I offered.

Great Way to See DC

First experience using VRBO and will not be the last! Owner was so helpful, friendly, and available. Loved the neighborhood and the easy access to Metro. My daughter and I spent spring break and we traveled exclusively by metro - location was wonderful. The apartment had heated floors (AWESOME!) and we fought over the futon because it slept so well. It was a perfect for the two of us. Other than the steep stairs down to the apartment, you would never know it was a basement unit - it was so bright and sunny.

Perfect Location!

My husband and I just enjoyed a 4 night stay in this apartment. The location was perfect - very close to the metro and many wonderful restaurants. We really enjoyed the fun and eclectic area. Eva and her assistant John were very responsive and helpful throughout the entire process - from booking to answering questions during our stay. Will definitely stay here again if possible!

My family and I rented this apartment this summer and were very pleased with our hosts, the location and the apartment itself. We were very comfortable, found it easy to get around and consisdered this place our home away from home. We will visit again and will recommend to our travelling friends.
