Overview

Vermilion House Rental Photos and Description

House, 1 Bedroom, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 2). During the Summer we can only rent weekly

We have a very lovely, one bedroom lakefront house that is available to rent in Vermilion, Ohio. The interior is all knotty pine with a fireplace, very large master bedroom, large sun porch, kitchen, living room /dining room and bath. It is charming, cozy and immaculate. Cozy in the winter and lovely in the summer.

The large, private backyard abuts Lake Erie, and provides you with a break-front (albeit presently under construction) at the lake that is perfect for fishing, swimming or just “sitting” by the water. There is a large park for the kids a short walk/bike ride down the street, and a large, private backyard with, swings and benches to watch the truly great sunsets and sunrises over Lake Erie. Take a snooze on the sun porch and catch the afternoon trade winds, or open the windows at night and catch the wind and sound of the waves.

Conveniently located, it is 20 minutes from Cedar Point and the many Sandusky water parks (Kalahari, Great Wolf Lodge, Castaway Bay), 30 minutes to the ferry for the Lake Erie Islands and wineries, 20 minutes to historic Milan/Norwalk Ohio (home of Thomas Edison), and 30 minutes to Cleveland’s Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame, the Science Museum, Cleveland Indians, Browns, and Cavaliers, and the world famous Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland Orchestra, and Art and History museums. There is fine shopping, restaurants, boat rentals and the quaint City of Vermilion (complete with ice cream Shoppe, naval museum, wonderful beaches and a 5 star French restaurant on the water) to visit.

So spend a day at Cedar Point, and come home to the quiet of the Lake for dinner and an evening of relaxing at the water. Go fishing in the morning, and then head into Milan in the afternoon for a taste of history. Head off for a day at the water parks and come home to a home cooked meal on the grill. Spend a day at the Rock N’ Roll Hall of Fame and visit the many sites of Cleveland (USS Mather, the USS Cod submarine, the many nightclubs in the Flats by the Cuyahoga River, the Science Museum, or catch an Indians game) (Cleveland really is a great city) and come home to a night of catching fireflies in the backyard, or a trip into Vermilion for ice cream or just a peaceful sunset at the water. The combinations and possibilities are endless.

Our house offers you days of quiet by the water with the fun and excitement of day trips to the many sites in Vermilion, Sandusky, Huron, Milan, Norwalk, and Cleveland, as well as the Lake Erie Islands. You will have a vacation to remember for always.

FAMILY GATHERINGS

Also available - a large THREE bedroom mirror image house that is located next door (It is a duplex) which is great for family gatherings/reunions. If you would like to rent both units the price is $1700. For the THREE bedroom side THERE IS A LARGE MASTER BEDROOM (ORIGINALLY A SUNROOM) PLUS 2 SMALLER BEDROOMS. FOR SPECIFIC INFORMATION go to the VRBO separate listing #261126 for specific information and pictures. Both sides are both beautiful - mirror images - but for the bedrooms. (Each side has its own yard area - it is a large yard). It is a great deal for a family vacation to remember always.

Our house is also about 40 minutes from the Cleveland Clinic - and is also a perfect peaceful place for family members or for the patient' s peaceful recuperation.

THIS CALENDAR ONLY APPLIES TO THE ONE BEDROOM UNIT. Please go to VRBO listing #162266 for information and pictures for the THREE bedroom home and its calendar.

About Donald Fenner

WE LOVE OUR HOUSE AND OUR SUMMER RENTERS.

Donald Fenner purchased this house in 2001

Why Donald Fenner chose Vermilion

We purchased our lakefront HOME and gutted large parts of the home, replaced kitchens and baths as well as many of the knotty pine walls. Because it is a duplex (see 3 bedroom listing 1662266), we specifically bought our home on the lake to accommodate our children and their families, and thought that it would be a great vacation rental until we 'retired'. Our one bedroom side provides a wonderful cozy getaway opportunity in a breathtaking lakefront location, while being close to Cleveland, the Cleveland Clinic, the islands, Cedar Point, and all of the waterfront points of interest. Our home is lovely, cozy, and immaculate. The views are magnificent, and the lakefront wonderful.

What makes this house unique

A PEACEFUL, BEAUTIFUL AND CLEAN RETREAT WITH A PRISTINE WHITE SAND BEACH A SHORT WALK DOWN THE STREET - WITH A NEIGHBORHOOD PARK.

Also, our home is a duplex - so there is a mirror image house next door with three bedrooms. This arrangement has proved a wonderful option for family gatherings - particularly for two separate families - or grandparents/parent vacations. You get the privacy and peace of a separate home as well as the 'family' right next door. For pictures and information go to VRBO listing #261126, or http://katesvacationhomes.net

Great Location On Lake Erie.....

  • 4 of 5

My husband and I have family in Vermilion Ohio. We decided to visit Labor Day week. I went right to VRBO looking for a one bedroom cottage on Lake Erie near Vermilion. My search lead me to Kate's home located in a community called, Vermilion on The Lake.. I called Kate when I saw it was open for the dates we wanted, we confirmed things on the phone and booked our week.

Prior to our arrival I called Kate to find out if there was a fitness center or a YMCA near by.

Kate was helpful and gave me the good news that there was a YMCA five minutes away and a fitness center 10 minutes away

Upon our arrival Don ( Kate's Husband) stopped by to be sure we had everything we needed. The cottage was cozy and has a great patio overlooking Lake Erie with a huge picnic table which was great for the family picnic we had on Labor Day.. To our surprise there was a little country store right across the street , great for last minute ice, soda, ice cream etc... A short walk was a private beach for this little community the cottage is located in... The near by neighbors were very friendly and took some family pictures for our family of 6 on labor day...

Upon our arrival we also found a basket of gourmet coffee and tea packages and some fresh danish... yum...

The bath towels were really big, soft and great for the many showers we took with the hot week we arrived to.. The kitchen had all the things we needed to put together our lobster bake for our visiting family... We even had an a/c in the living area and a separate one in the bedroom. Best of all were the wonderful breezes coming off Lake Erie and the beautiful views... Paul & Doris from the Finger Lakes in New York

Cozy and Clean

  • 5 of 5

We had such a wonderful stay in this one bedroom lakefront. The lake view was fantastic on the patio or from the sun room. The house was very clean and nicely decorated with all the comforts of home. Our stay was very relaxing, just what we wanted, and the area seems very safe. The little store right across the road is an added bonus with most anything you may need during your stay. We hope to come back and would recommend this to our friends. Thanks Kate, for letting us stay in you home.

Vermilion Cottage

  • 5 of 5

We traveled back to Ohio to visit my parents. Found this cottage on line at For Rent By Owner. What a wonderful find. It was so nice after being gone all day visiting with my parents to return to a place that felt like home instead of sterile motel room. Knowing that our 2 pugs was accepted sealed the deal. Will gladly stay again when traveling back to Ohio.

Everything was clean and the towels were big and soft. Even provided some Danish for the first morning.

Would recommend this to anyone wanting a homey place to stay in Cleveland area.

Had a great time in this great little place. All the comforts of home. The owner was great and very helpful. Right on the water with a good view of the lake. Watching the storm come in from the enclosed porch was exciting. The only thing I missed was my king size bed. The queen bed was comfortable. There is a great little store across the street for the small things you need. Everyone is friendly but they don't invade your space if you like quiet. Close to beaches and the town of Vermillion is full of places to shop and the soda place is good for banana splits and root beer floats.

Wonderful & Cozy

  • 5 of 5

We stayed the month of December, and as cold as it was outside, the sweet little cabin was nice & cozy. Very clean, the linens & bedroom as great (the bedspread is just beautiful). I think we only had to buy 2 pans to cook gravy & bacon in, otherwise everything was there. The view was great, even tho I only looked thru the windows! LOL! Hoping to be able to stay again in the future.

Very nice accomodations and owner

  • 5 of 5

Had a wonderfully pleasant stay at this spot at the end of August. The weather was spectacular and the cottage was just as described. I'm a bit of a clean-freak and always worry a bit before checking into a new place. The place was spotless, as advertised. Fit the bill perfectly. And Kate, the owner, was exceptionally accomodating to my odd schedule. Am really looking forward to staying here again some time in the fall. I live in Cleveland and grew up new Vermilion. This was such an easy drive and a great break, I can't believe I didn't think to do it sooner. Thanks, Kate!

Lakefront - on the shores of Lake Erie. Some days we have a sandy beach, and some days we have rocks. We cannot promise what we will have - it is the luck of the weather and the water pattern.

THERE IS A BEAUTIFUL AND EMPTY BEACH DOWN THE STREET - A SHORT WALK - THAT HAS A FISHING BREAK WALL AND WHITE SAND THAT GOES OUT FOR QUITE A DISTANCE AT A VERY SHALLOW LEVEL. IT IS WONDERFUL. IT IS ALSO ACROSS THE STREET FROM THE NEIGHBORHOOD PARK WITH SWINGS, AND BASKET BALL COURTS, TENNIS COURTS, A PICNIC AREA, AND BASEBALL DIAMOND. WE HAVE A SIMPLY GREAT LOCATION.
